The audience broke into prolonged applause when Moore said environmental activists "use green language in a clever way to cloak agendas that have more to do with anti-capitalism and anti-globalization than anything to do with science or ecology."Applause, Applause.

He now heads an organization called Greenspirit, "a network of people who celebrate the human spirit in the context of our place in the natural world and Earth's own evolutionary journey." Translated into practical English means "a network of people who like to smoke pot." :-)
However, on a serious note, he's right when he said: today's environmental activists "use green language in a clever way to cloak agendas that have more to do with anti-capitalism and anti-globalization than anything to do with science or ecology."

in their philosophy, he said, was an anti-globalization protester he once saw wearing a cardboard sign that read: "Join the worldwide struggle against globalization." That is a great tagline........

I'm pretty farmiliar with Patrick Moore's beliefs and ideas, I used to cite him when I would argue with one of my left wing idiot liberal teachers when I was going for my MBA.
He's still a liberal, but he is not of the socialist variety, and he loathes what greenpeace is today, he's more into science and the free market in his thinking, so he does sound conservative to alot of folks, for this he is often cursed and threatened.
He has also made some very interesting accusations against greenpeace over the years, that if true, should warrant a federal investigation.

Greenpeace = Lazy people who will do just enough to prevent productive people from accomplishing anything, thus hiding their own laziness.

Greenpeace, the international organization that uses non-violent direct action to expose global environmental problems. Playing chicken with Navy ships in restricted waters is hardly "nonviolent."

One of the big problems is Greenpeace was taken over by the KGB in the 70s
Like a number of other groups. The founders had a good cause and just concerns. Then others (like the KGB) seen how they could hijack it and use it to there advantage.
