Rice pointedly declined to rule out running for president in 2008 on Friday during an hour-long interview with reporters at WASHINGTON TIMES, top sources tell DRUDGE. Rice gave her most detailed explanation of a 'mildly pro-choice' stance on abortion, she would not want the government 'forcing its views' on abortion... She explained that she is libertarian on the issue, adding: 'I have been concerned about a government role'... Developing late Friday for Saturday cycles... MORE...
Trinity, please read post 885 by me. I know someone in a similiar dilemna as we speak.
But if abortion were illegal, what should she do?
That's nobody's business to have an opinion. Leave the poor woman alone! This is a matter between her and her doctor. My point all along is that "society" e.g., FR, has no business having an opinion about this woman's devastating problem. Anyone who offers an opinion in such a serious situation is just a busybody.
Oh, so the president can go to hell too. Lovely. If that's your idea of Christianity, I certainly don't want any part of it.
And if you're too ignorant to know what the three exception rule is, you haven't been paying attention either this thread or discussions in public life about abortion.
FYI, the three exceptions: life of the mother, incest and rape. Three exceptions the president has stated repeatedly he understands and endorses.
You know the answer to that already; she has to die.
You don't know what the heck you're talking about. Have you never heard of ectopic pregnancies? There have been other instances posters have shared. Get with reality.
>>>Let me give a more apt comparison. Someone has an fatal disease, beyond any possibility of cure. He will die a lingering death. Can you kill him, because he'll die anyway? Is there nothing wrong in taking an innocent's life, if the innocent will die anyway?>>>
After watching my mother die a horrendous death...
Well, let's just say before it was over my view of Dr. Kavorkian wasn't as bad as it was before her death from cancer.
No thanks, like penecillin, it makes me break out in hives. :-}
I love BAMA, am I a liberal? Go crimson tide! lol
Take this for what its worth who sent McCain real money at one point.
>>>Do you really want to say that to another human being?
I did say it. I will say it again. You are pathetic.>>>
That's what people say when lose all logical arguments.
And calling people morons, delusional, pathetic and scum (or is it evil slime, I get them confused) goes a long way to changing hearts! :}
For the record:
I consider pro-choice or pro-abortion the other side. My views on abortion were the watershed of my young adult conservatism being melded.
Unlike some here. I do not consider ectopic pregnancies viable and they should not be part of the abortion question. Until which time they can be moved intra-uterine, they should be removed medically unless they miscarry first. An ectopic rupture is an emergency.
But...although we have a few testimonials here to the contrary, the life of the mother is quite rare and it should be precisely that...the life of the mother...not for some headtrip.
In a perfect world, I would probably not opt for the rape exception but I can see the argument for both sides. Incest...same...but more clear actually in favor of exception.
That makes me semi-purist.
Go forth and multiply baby...do it responsibly and enjoy. Been my creed for a while now.
Sorry.
Punt, Bama, punt.
>>>You too, sandbar.
???
Truth be told, Peach, I don't know enough to answer that question effectively. But if you're going to perform surgery on the mother (and abortion is a surgical procedure) you should perform the procedure that would give the child a chance at living, instead of the one that outright kills him. Personally, if I were in such a position, I'd have the C-section instead of the abortion. A C-section would give a chance for a miracle - the barest chance, maybe, but still a chance. I'm with Winston Churchill, "While there's life, there's hope."
McCAIN [to Bush]: Do you believe in the exemption, in the case of abortion, for rape, incest, and life of the mother?
BUSH: Yeah, I do.
1. Rape
2. Incest
3. Life of the Mother
