9Wants to Know has learned several regents are concerned about new allegations of plagiarism against Churchill.

NOW the liberal media give a **** about the fact that this churchill guy is just a posing loser of a professor who got his 15 minutes at the expense of the brave victims of 9-11. Shame on them.

Lane says he was notified by the attorney for CU Friday afternoon that the Board of Regents need more time to consider whether they want a buy-out deal.

Why buy out the jerk when you can fire him for cause for his plagarism?

I'm sorry, but watching these liberals try to bribe their way out of the consequences of their phony idealism is what schadenfreude is all about.

$300,000-400,000 is less than reported this last week, but still a perversion.

the other alternative is to just let him stay there and teach. in either case, the stench is not going to go away for a LONG time.

You sure are painting an entire college with a broad brush. You must know that what you say is a gross exaggeration of the situation.

There are decent good people at CU.

I agree with part of your sentiment but generalizing to the entire university is somewhat unfair......I'll bet they have some great programs there but of course no one would know that after Churchill opens his mouth.......I'd stick to villifying the specific jack a**es here like Ward, his lawyers, the regents and cowardly ex Pres.......

they are figuring the cost benefit ratio of firing him versus buying him out. A lawsuit will be costly wouldn't you think?

Why couldn't CU just settle this by agreeing to pay Chief Wannabe a sum he would accept -- say $5MM -- and then pay him with counterfeit money?

This is a tough situation. I think Churchill has brought a lot of trouble onto a lot of good people, and we're all sorry about the good folks he's hurting. That includes families of 9/11 victims, and lot of other people too (like others who work at CU).

If I worked at CU I wouldn't want to be associated with this guy. I'd want him fired, or I'd consider resigning in order to stay away from the taint he brings.

There should be an awards for Scumbag Lowlife' s of the Year .
People like Ward Churchill could be nominated .
Although I can think of a long list of contenders at this point , there is something uniquely perfidious about this
professor Neanderthal .
Can someone please make a website that allows we conservative people to call these people for what they are , and vote on it?
I wish.....

The price IS down considerably from what was previously reported.

The University of Colorado has said that buying out Churchill would save the University the enormous costs of subsequent lawsuits by Churchill, if he were to be fired.

However, that argument has no credence. Numerous 5 Star lawyers/firms have offered their services pro bono. In addition, KHOW radio hosts/lawyers Dan Caplis and Craig Silverman started a fundraiser for legal fees at firewardchurchill@clearchannel.com

And just imagine what CU's legal bill would be if some of Ward Churchill's call to violence were acted upon by some rabid student or follower.

The plagiarism charge got media legs before CU could buy Churchill out. (And CU knew about it!)

Perhaps, just perhaps, the board of regent now is considering to fire him based on the plagiarism case rather than buy-out?

As far as I'm concerned, the inflammatory call to arms against Americans makes Ward Churchill an enemy combatant and he should be treated as such.

The actions of those at the U of C paint the entire college with a broad brush, not me.

When a school has a teacher win the Nobel Prize, it reflects on the college,
and so does this.

Those who will have gone to U of C after this will suffer.
Apparently the taxpayers, too.
