Hey there.

I was just reading one of those articles - Do any vestigial structures exist in humans - and I have a couple questions about the commentary.

(1) In the early part of the article, the author seems to promise that he will demonstrate that the coccyx and the auricular muscle are useful structures that cannot be deemed vestigial. For some reason, he then failed to do so. Why not? I find this disconcerting.

(2) Why do men have nipples?

I was actually looking yesterday for a more specific article on the tailbone. But I found one today. Basically the spine has to end somewhere. It provides very important support for key muscles, and removing it has caused certain patients to curse their doctors every time they go to the bathroom.

Male Nipples

1) They do generate pleasure for the man. I'll attest to that as well as the first article below.
2) They are ornamental. Although as with all art, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. And evolutionists routinely deny that anything is ornamental.
3) They are a design feature inherent in the way humans develop where the same tissues can develop into either sex based on hormones.

Straight Dope on Nipples

Don't mess with my nipples. I like them. And I like them better when a woman kisses them or drapes her hair across them.
