66 PEDOPHILES STAND TRIAL – BIGGEST CASE EVER IN FRANCE

66 PEDOPHILES STAND TRIAL – BIGGEST CASE EVER IN FRANCE

In the French City of Angers an exceptional pedophile trial starts today. Exceptional due to the high number of defendants: 66 adults from a marginal area in Angers. They are accused of having molested 45 young children (often their own). But also exceptional because of the atrocities the victims suffered (a mother let rape her 10 year old son for a new tire); 39 different persons raped a girl the same age.

The youngest molested child was 6 months, the oldest 14 years. The boys and girls were videotaped during the rapes. Then the tapes were shown in the family circle. Among the 66 defendants are 27 women. Horrible, certainly if you know that a mother was filmed drinking coffee while men were raping her child. The DA says that not all the criminals are identified because some were masked. He suspects that there are even more victims than known so far. Some parents got 300 euro a week for lending out their child. Others got only a packet of cigarettes for it. Most of the defendants made confessions.

This appeared in the Belgium paper, Het Laatste Nieuws today. My husband (Dutch-speaking) has translated it into English in order for me to post the article. There was a small blip on CNN Europe here today about this, but the scandal has not gotten international press coverage. French cover-up at its worst!!!

No doubt the Belgians are most upset about the pedophiles getting caught.

Maybe these guys, as a defense, ought to brag about their Playboy magazine collection like Michael Jackson is.

Why is it that when men comment on girls between the ages of 13-18 sexually....that it's considered ok? Alot of guys will go out with underage girls or what I use to hear at work..."Anything over 14 will do".
They are underage girls and yet most men think it's ok to ogle them, buy porno mags, go to strip bars and go out with them.. ....but when a man ogles a younger boy they are so sickened (which I am too don't get me wrong).
I just don't approve of the hypocritical double standard by men...

Defense lawyers said some suspects were illiterate and appeared not to fully understand the charges they faced. The lawyers said they planned to argue that government social workers, who had worked with many of the suspects, had failed in their responsibilities or turned a blind eye to signs of abuse, AP said.

I wonder if these are citizens born in France, or immigrants?

The boys and girls were videotaped during the rapes.

If they actually have the tapes, this takes it out of the realm of some of the cases here that were just too incredible to believe, but they got convictions anyway. Thanks to your husband for the translation.

For Pete's sake, WHAT cover-up ??? It's big news here, the newspapers, the TV news, you can't escape it. I can't help it if the US MSM prefers to cover Jacko's trial. Sheesh !

Interesting. Looks like the French messed up on a similar case last year ~ one witness ~ no cooboration.

No doubt they are far more confident this time since they have videos.

Can you give us more info on the people involved? Are they French or immigrants?

The prosecution says most were perpetrated in the flat of a former convicted sex offender, Franck Vergondy, and in sheds on garden allotments. The crimes reportedly came to light when investigators monitored the activities of Eric Joubert, a convicted sex offender released in 1999. He and Mr Vergondy allegedly ran the paedophile ring.

Looks like French names to me. Apparently they don't keep their sex offenders in prison long enough.... Those poor kids lived in a state prison though -- welfare housing.

Several unidentified "clients" of the paedophile ring are still being sought. Police have already identified eight. They are not, as rumour had suggested, important members of the community, but parents who disguised themselves so they would not be recognised by their own children.
The victims, whose evidence was filmed and will be presented on giant screens, say they were forced to watch pornographic films and their parents having sex, before being raped.
The defence will stress that all the accused come from deprived backgrounds, many were unemployed, the majority are illiterate and all were looked at by social services.

I haven't seen or read anything about the suspects' nationality. They were all from a low to very low income background, living mainly from welfare, so they could be both poor French nationals and/or immigrants.

Apparently the group that begun these acts was 40 to 45 strong, and while most of them have confessed - no point in denying given the tapes and other damning evidence and testimonies - they all say they began their horrific sex games at the behest of three or four people among them, who saw this as a way to satisfy their horrible urges and raise money out of it.

No cover-up here, guys. The trial is about to begin, the suspects confessed, and the Justice Minister made public declarations about the grave and heinous character of the crime. If he was to propose a popular vote to re-establish the death penalty for pedophiles now, he would probably carry it. I doubt he will, because the death penalty has become something of a political taboo in every Western country, but I know I would vote for it twice if I could.
