Well, there's a problem with this, even though I don't much care for capital punishment--isn't it common in places such as New York City, for drug dealers and somesuch, to use kids in their deals, because if the kids get caught, the penalties are lesser than if the dealers themselves get caught and charged as adults?
I think we ought to be a little careful, in having uniform, rigid, age-standards for penalties, such as those under the age of adulthood not being subjected to the death penalty.
I have no way of knowing, but I suspect there are some under 18 years of age who truly might deserve the penalty.
We can do as the liberal judges do and accept this decision simply because we agree with the decision but the real story is the fact they cited foriegn law and custom and not the constitution to make that decision.
We have a jury system. You have to trust the jury.
