well well well, if it isn't the Grand Wizard of Lynchings Bobby Byrd...
YAWN......Broken record....No new ideas there...
Byrd certainly isn't the first to compare Republicans to Nazis. Has anyone thought of countering by comparing him to the Kluxers ... oh, wait, that's not a comparison, that's an accurate portrayal.
Funny how the left and demonrats never call anyone a 'Stalin' or 'Little Stalins'.
Maybe he should do what he does best - intimidate them by burning crosses in their yards.
Well, at least he's admitting that the law is on the Republicans' side.
The only thing I want to see incinerated is Byrd!!!
BYRD: BMMMMPFFF IPPFF WRRRRFF FFFNN HIFFFFLR
REPORTER: Excuse me, Senator Byrd, could you lift you sheet, your voice is muffled...
BYRD: Why certainly, son.... BUSH IS WORSE THAN HITLER!!!
For those who are unfamiliar, allow me to post definition from Wikipedia:
Godwin's law (also Godwin's rule of Nazi analogies) is an adage in Internet culture that was originated by Mike Godwin in 1990. The law states that:
As an online discussion grows longer, the probability of a comparison involving Nazis or Hitler approaches one. There is a tradition in many Usenet newsgroups that once such a comparison is made, the thread is over, and whoever mentioned the Nazis has automatically lost whatever argument was in progress. In addition, whoever points out that Godwin's law applies to the thread is also considered to have "lost" the battle, as it is considered poor form to invoke the law explicitly. Godwin's law thus practically guarantees the existence of an upper bound on thread length in those groups. Many people understand Godwin's law to mean this, although (as is clear from the statement of the law above) this is not the original formulation.
Nevertheless, there is also a widely-recognized codicil that any intentional invocation of Godwin's law for its thread-ending effects will be unsuccessful. See "Quirk's exception."
Change the rule. Democrats can resign the Senate in disgust.
Byrd compared the idea to Hitler's abuse of power.
"Hitler never abandoned the cloak of legality. He recognized the enormous psychological value of having the law on his side," he said.
Being a old KKK man he should know all about this stuff.
Hummm, wonder if he is using any of it now?
Byrd is an old fool who makes my skin crawl every time I see his face and makes me wanna puke at the sound of his voice. Shame on you West Virginians for re-electing him time after time.
One of the amazing things about Senator Byrd is that he is living proof that the Democrats tolerate racists as long as they are their racists. Frequently, Liberals smear Southerners who have joined the Republican Party and say they're all unreconstructed racists. Meanwhile, they have an old, doddering, racist coot like Byrd as one of their party leaders. This is like another one their leaders on women's issues: Teddy Kennedy. It's the gift that keeps on giving. It's the proof that they can talk the talk, but they cannot walk the walk.
Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter.
Isaiah 5:20
Byrd is such a "POS!"
"The law" is what's specifically laid down in the Constitution, as this so called "Constitutional schollar" darned well knows! The Constitution specifically calls for a supermajority ONLY in a few well defined instances. Senate rules are just that... RULES! Rules govern things like dress codes, for goodness sakes! Rules are not "the law."
Of course, leave it for a POS like Byrd to try to make people believe that laws would be broken by actually following the laws set down in the Constitution!
Mark
The Democrats have been acting in opposition to the Constitution and common practice since they started this filibuster crap and old "sheets" knows it. Let the Republicans grow a little balls and all of a suddne its the Republicans he says are wrong. Screw him
Are these the same rights the racist pig dixiecrats used to bar any legislation they thought might lead to "race mixing?" KKKer advancing senate filibusters..... is the Democratic party on a path to suicide?
GO SHEETS!!!!!!
"Hitler never abandoned the cloak of legality. ..."
CLOAK?
