Now why did Russia choose to make a statement today, not sure there is anything new in this ....?

Russia will develop missiles impervious to any defense...Why?
To: Ernest_at_the_Beach
Uh, Russia, we weren't thinking of you re the Missile Shield. Thanks for the heads up.

Putin is starting to remind me of Kruscheve more and more every day. The last technological breakthrough they had was Sputnik and that was because they had all of the former Nazis. I really doubt they have anything new now.

This is not standard Putin PR. I wonder if he's having Kruschev-like fantasies. What does he do for an encore, bang his fist on the table after guzzling several shots of Stoli?

I think we should be. It sounds like a veiled backhanded threat to me. Is anyone else in the world deploying ABMs??

How "Russian" of Putin. Sort of like Chirac stabbing the U.S. in the back! How "French" of Chirac.

Maybe they really really don't want to defeat them, gives great cover playing war games in the global war against terrorists.
Arming terrorists most especially those who hate America has always been the 'soviets' style.
To: Ernest_at_the_Beach
They made the statement today because of last Thursday's successful final/production test of the Aegis BMD 3.0/SM3 ABM system.

It sure is. The question is, is this a prequel to a new chill or is it just a slip and fall on the ice?
