"Mr. Gonzales also said he expected the Justice Department to look for more aggressive ways to prosecute obscenity crimes"

When did we will the war on terror?

No wonder why the Dems hate him; he might deprive them of a huge voting block (especially once they receive their new driver's licenses).

It turns out there are enough lawyers at Justice to do more than one job at once.

He urged Congress to move quickly on proposals that would expedite the process.
PLEASE OH PLEASE OH PLEASE! Hopefully he turns out to be a good asset in curbing the flow of illegals.

It's not like they have just one job to do, and pictures and vidoes of 18+ year old adults having sex should not be a major priority for the AG's office.

Well, he can walk and chew gum at the same time.

Fighting the War on Terror doesn't mean that he has to ignore all other crimes.

hard drugs, illegals, money laundering, white collar crime, child abuse, child porn and a host of other crimes should be solved before we go after adults willingly having sex in front of a camera.

"He said that the Justice Department and federal courts were "straining under the weight of an immigration litigation system that is broken" and that illegal immigrants facing criminal charges were receiving too many chances to appeal their fates. He urged Congress to move quickly on proposals that would expedite the process. "

So, where are all the immigration one-issue people to applaud this?

He made clear his top three priorities:

"speed the process for deporting illegal immigrants, end the impasse over judicial nominees and extend federal antiterrorism powers under the USA Patriot Act."

"If the attorney general wants to reduce the immigration workload of our federal courts," Mr. Leahy said, "he should restore the fair appeals process within the Justice Department that his predecessor diminished through his misguided restructuring of the Board of Immigration Appeals. That, and not depriving legal permanent residents of their due process rights, should be the solution."

The Senator from Mexico City speaks...

He also mentioned 'obscenity' and, it appears, failed to mention child porn. One is just a LITTLE worse than the other.

Yes, I have. I keep hearing how well they are doing running the airport screening system and how they stop war vets because of their medals and how they miss butcher knives in peoples carry on baggage.

Forget me for my lack of faith in their abilities.
