But as a quote to substantiate the piece, I think it is inflammatory.
I believe, knowing the person, that she was referring to trash in the sense of terrorists, murderers, rapists and other unsavory characters that immigrate illegally into the country.
She wasn't referring to legal immigrants, of which she was one. That's the way I certainly took the remark and certainly the way I meant it. I can see your point, but protecting our borders in today's world is paramount to our continued safety. It can no longer be ignored.
