There is NO way the government can stand against that many people who are standing together.

Yes there is, but it wouldn't be pretty. I love the Lebanese people, and pray that they gain their freedom from the Syrian occupation.

We ALL need to pray.....The power of prayer does do miracles....and I'm afraid we may need one here. Did you read the article about the drug/ Syrian military connection?

As a Lebanese American I thank you for your prayers. We Lebanese will never forget the marines who were killed in Lebanon by the Syrian-backed militias. That was the first instance of suicide bombing. Due to the success of that first bombing (the Marines were pulled out) the terrorists got emboldened and suicide bombing flourished, including on 9/11. It's time to reverse the cycle.

If I were the President, I'd have the composite wing from Mountain Home AFB do a deployment "exercise" to those airbases near the Iraq-Syrian border...or maybe a squadron of B-1s. If the Syrians do anything to harm these protesters a la Tienanmen Square, I say we start bombing the pants off them. Slide a carrier group in there and hit them from the Med, and hit them with F-15Es and other assorted zoomie toys from the east.

You served in Lebanon during the Reagan era, I presume?
