GEFFEN UNLOADS ON HILLARY: 'SHE CAN'T WIN'
nydailynews ^

Posted on 02/18/2005 11:26:53 AM PST by David Noles

Friends no more? I hope Sen. Hillary Clinton isn't counting on help from Hollywood mogul David Geffen in her possible run for the White House in 2008. Geffen, a generous supporter and pal of Bill Clinton when he was President, trashed Hillary's prospects last night during a Q&A at the 92nd St. Y. "She can't win, and she's an incredibly polarizing figure," the billionaire Democrat told his audience. "And ambition is just not a good enough reason." Geffen's dis was met with hearty applause.

She can get enough of the women's vote to win if the Republicans run a RINO. That's how her husband won.

Yeah, but I think in the case of Bill a good number of women were not motivated by political passion for him, but rather, passion of the carnal sort. Somehow I don't think most (if any) women will get all hot and bothered over Hillary, even those with Sapphic tendencies ;-)

Also...will her so-called move to the center get her in trouble with NY voters?

Doubt it--they'll probably all know that she's just BS'ing. Just like the (far-left) dems didn't raise a ruckus on Kerry about his public gay marriage, war, abortion stances--they all knew he didn't mean it.

The 92nd st Y is where limosine liberals in NYC hang out. The pre-school there is harder to get into than Harvard. Citicorp CEO Jack Grubman made Citicorp give $1 million to get his kids in there.

Quadruple bypass surgery. Condition worse than expected. Longer recovery time than expected.

A friend of mine passed away last May at 71. He had the same operation. Doctors told him it would hold for 10 years. He went nearly 16 years. His initial recovery was much better than Bill's.

The question is how efficient is Bill's heart working? My friend's was down to 30% when he passed away. After his operation it was never above 70%. I don't think Bill's is that good.

Any Doctor's out there? Visual diagnoisis?

> Mr. Bill has been uncharacteristically quiet and out of the news.

He was in Key West recently. An article posted last week on the Little Rock double wide says he sleeps over in his penthouse playroom there once a month. His opinion on the Iraq election was sought out and worshipfully recorded by the NYT. Seems to have been conspicuously absent at Davos...but I wouldn't worry about the schlickmeister's health. Surely he is in his lair hatching plots.

The 92nd Street Y is one of NYC's liberal headquarters. It's highly significant that David Geffen chose that venue to say this, and also significant that he gained applause, rather than a gasp of surprise.

Also significant that this is reported in the NY Daily News, which has been one of the clinton's most loyal supporters. They did a fair amount of dirty work for hillary against Howard Dean last year, and bill clinton is a close friend of the publisher.

Susan Sarandon says the same thing, only less diplomatically. I have Democratic aquaintences who also say the same thing against Hillary.

However, when push comes to shove, the liberal lemmings will fall in line for 2008. Just watch and see. Bubba is already on the phone to David telling him what a great gal Hil really is. (Barf, gag, choke, spit,...)

"Geffen's dis was met with hearty applause."

Can this possibly be true?

To whom was he speaking, The Young Republicans?

She doesn't campaign. She has listening tours, where the questions and answers are prescripted. I don't worry about her getting enough legitimate votes to win. I worry about winning "by other means."

I wonder how long it will be before Geffen "pulls a Foster"...
