Having taken a course very similar to the one Grandy describes, I am leary of taking any course in mathematics taught by the Philosophy Department. It was the worst course I ever took. Perhaps his course is the exception....
Well, fair's fair - every other Department smuggles in unasserted philosophical assumptions into their course-work! ;^)
Grandy's probably an exception. He's a trained logician and a managing editor of the Notre Dame Journal of Formal Logic.
