Death of worker at treatment plant ruled a homicide The Associated Press
PATERSON, N.J. - A woman whose body was found in a tank at a water treatment plant drowned and her death has been ruled a homicide, the Passaic County prosecutor said Monday.
Geetha Angara had been doing water quality tests Wednesday when she disappeared. A search found her body about 100 feet from where she was working, but her two-way radio and clipboard were found directly below the work area, which had a protective grate to prevent falls, Prosecutor James F. Avigliano said.
"That was where we think the woman was either pushed or shoved into this opening," Avigliano said. Water flow in the tank probably contributed to movement of her body, but did not have much effect on the smaller, denser items, he said.
The regional medical examiner made the homicide determination, which detectives agreed with, he said. The examiner also found the cause of death to be drowning, he said.
Investigators last week began interviewing all 85 employees working at the plant, and all will eventually be interviewed, Avigliano said.

Ooookkkkk....guess common decency is hard to come by for some of you!
The prosecutor says that everybody is a suspect. Sheriff's deputies are patroling the plant today and employees are being paired up in order to make sure everyone stays safe, but investigators say they believe this may have been an inside job.
James Avigliano, Passaic Co. Prosecutor: "The interviews are being conducted. The only benefit that we have here is that there is a limited number of people who were present at the time that this event occurred."
Geetha Angara apparently had gone down to a remote section of the plant to calibrate a machine and to take a water sample. Her body was found about 24 hours after that, but again police now say this was not an accident - that this was murder.
the 'joke' isn't about her - it's about all the tinfoil people who lump in every death of anybody remotely related with chemistry / biology as part of some sinister plot by some unknown forces.
I am not joking. I am dead serious about this poor woman's murder. There may be a connection to one of the many terrorist nests in New Jersey.
She may have died preventing a Jihadist from poisoning the water there.
I've read some freeper's "statistical analysis" of it back when there were 11 microbiologist deaths within 5 months.
They used the number of microbiologists in the general US population and the death rate among all citizens and 'deduced' that the 11 deaths in 5 months was too high to be coincidental.
They also failed to admit (or read) that some of the deaths happened in russia, england, australia, etc. Thus rendering their thorough statistical analysis based on THE US POPULATION OF MICROBIOLOGISTS completely and totally worthless.
Of course, they seemed to gloss over that fact. It would reduce the shock value of their 'statistics'.
It was bad enough when it was microbiologists. Now it's almost any type of scientist or even people in school studying science. Soon it will be that if you own a lab coat and end up dead, Art bell, george noory, alex jones, and every other crackpot with an audience to entertain will gleefully use your death to advance their careers and captivate their audience.
It's pathetic and sickening.
They were Coptic Christians. As far as I know, they were never Muslimes.
The FBI is finally getting around to interviewing their relatives.

I wonder if the sling was the result of a warning.
Shep just pointed out that someone's probably paired up with the murderer.
Things have been quiet
for some time. Even that strange
mall shooting didn't
get people stirred up.
Maybe everyone's just tired
from putting on foil . . .
I am surprised it took 15 posts to make this connection.
Maybe. Or it could be union related, organized crime, or a coverup at the facility. I once got mild chemical burns from bathing in New Jersey tap water, and the water company covered it up. How far would they go to cover up contamination on a large scale?
that is actually a very good thought.
I won't drink the tap water here. If I run out of bottled water (knock wood) I'll dip water out of the creek and boil it. My dog will drink the creek water, but she refuses to drink the tap water. When a thirsty dog refuses to drink the water, you gotta know something's wrong.
If these chemist and biologist were dying of natural causes and people were all up in arms and spouting unnatural theories for these deaths, then the tinfoil joke would be cute. It is the very large number of unnatural deaths occurring in this community that make it interesting to some and send up the red flags. One of these guys died from murder ok, but this many in such a small space of time??? Of course people with any natural curiosity will wonder.
How long ago was that?
I have a lousy concept of time, but I'd say about four years ago.
It raises my eyebrows, too.
According to actuarial charts, chemists are one of the groups of long-lived people. In fact, I had a life insurance policy through the American Chemical Society, with the Hartford, and the premiums were much lower for me than for those in other professions.
All these chemists dying under strange circumstances over the past couple of years is very unusual.
Some people can regognize patterns when they see them. Others would prefer to be oblivious.
I AM not that inform but could this be related
Blast kills researcher at ATK Thiokol lab
BRIGHAM CITY - Firefighters responding to an explosion in an ATK Thiokol research laboratory pulled a badly injured woman from the wrecked and burning building but could not save her co-worker, who perished in the blaze.
Steve Watters was the first Thiokol employee to die in an on-the-job accident since 1987, when nearly 100,000 pounds of rocket propellant ignited, killing five men.
No propellant was being used or stored in the building involved in Monday night's blast, on the north end of the 20,000-acre facility, about 25 miles northwest of Brigham City.
