Saw them on AMC this morning on The Shootout with the Peters from Aspen. First I've seen the two of them together in ages. I could've listened to them for another hour or so, but I got the munchies and had to take a nap.

Chong, who recently completed a nine-month sentence for trying to sell marijuana pipes on the Internet,

This poor man was SO screwed over.

Millions of illegals running around, politicians shoving classified documents down their pants....Yeah, make sure you lock up the poor guy for selling a piece of equipment you can get in any smoke shop or from most convenience stores!

I feel SO much safer now!!

(sarcasm off)

Was it so wrong for Chong to sell that bong? Why can't we all just get along?

I hope Cheech & Chong will come out swinging against the draconian War On Drugs w/ reckless abandon now that they are back together. I can't wait for the movies to be released!

Marin said their humor was appreciated by an unexpected group: "Cops were our biggest fans. Because they dealt in what we were dealing with everyday, but in reality... they saw the essential humor and they laughed."

From what I understand, Cheech's father is a cop.

"We were in the car waiting for the cue, you know. And the camera's rolling and we're sitting there, you know, and neither one of us heard the cue."

Sounds like the Director was stoned too

Chong really got screwed. Good to see they are working on a new film. Cheech and Chong are the most under-rated living comedians. They should be elevated to the status of Laurel and Hardy. It was horrifying that cheech ended up on the 'golden girls.' Reminded me of the old story of how moe from the three stooges ended up as a messenger on the studio lot (only not as tragic - at least cheech probably made a lot of cash). I hope they have a rennaisance soon if they can get their projects off the ground.

"When you think of how many kids died drinking alcohol, I feel I've saved millions of lives,"

I think that number is an overestimate, but his point is valid: the legal drug alcohol is a killer, unlike marijuana.

Chong said he isn't ashamed of introducing millions of Vietnam-era kids to marijuana. "When you think of how many kids died drinking alcohol, I feel I've saved millions of lives," he said.

Yeah, but look at what weed did to your brain. Of course, I KNOW you never did any harder stuff.

Question: Who owns your body, the government or you?

freedom n 1: the condition of being free; the power to act or speak or think without externally imposed restraints 2: immunity from an obligation or duty. (3)

liberty n 1: The condition of being free from restriction or control. 2. The right and power to act, believe, or express oneself in a manner of one's own choosing. 3. The condition of being physically and legally free from confinement, servitude, or forced labor. (4)

Does imprisoning people who smoke pot match with the above definitions?

Wow! After reading all these threads about C & C, I get the feeling this argument is between the enlightened and liteheaded. Personally, and experienced, the feds should legalize the weed and concentrate on the drugs that really wreck the lives of those to weak minded to know better.
