There has been no damage to freedom of expression.
Eason Jordan can say whatever he wants. He has not been jailed, nor will he be.
BUT FREEDOM OF SPEECH DOES NOT ME THAT THERE IS NOT POSSIBLE CONSEQUENCE!!!
Liberals, for some reason, can't get a grasp on reality.
He was caught red-handed, pandering to anti-United States journalists while hobnobbing in foreign lands. Unfortunately for him, his lies were reported. He then could not mount a credible defense for himself based on his own spoken words.
Life sucks when you play in the real world sometimes.
Respectfully,
Ghengis
p.s. For those keeping score...
LOL. How can one even begin to explain the actions of these goofballs?
I'm lovin' it!
Back in the dim, dark recesses of my educational background I dredged up the criteria that newspapers then used for their ratings. It was call Audit Bureau of Circulation or ABC. Its logo was a black hexagon with the letters ABC in white. Its sole purpose was to monitor the number of copies sold for each issue of the paper. By analogy, then the number of hits on a blog would indeed be a viable measure of its circulation and therefore of its effect on public thinking.
It is sad how people like the writer of this article and people like Howard Kurtz are so pathetic and liberal that they miss two important FACTS.
-Jordan made those comments. Two Dem Senators say he did....and others saw it and heard it.
This is why Jordan and some others won't release the tape of the transcript. AND JORDAN IS THE ONE WHO TRIED TO BACK PEDAL OUT OF IT. EVEN JORDAN KNEW HOW WRONG IT WAS.
-JORDAN CAN'T PRODUCE ANY EVIDENCE OF HIS SLANDERING ACCUSATIONS. A Senator challenged him, on the spot, to do so.
If JORDAN COULD BACK UP HIS STATEMENTS....HE WOULD HAVE DONE SO...AND NOT RESIGNED LIKE A COWARD.
JORDAN LIED!!!!!
-Also,It seems that Jordan has a history of slandering the troops and others who provide freedom.
Captain's Quarters states that they have documented it.
Michell Malkin has a run down on the issue on her web site.
She links to captain's quarters.
www.michellemalkin.com
It seems that The writer of the ed., Kurtz, and other liberal reporters fail to go after the real issue.
The Same with RATher gate.
If Kurtz had any journalistic integrity....he would be looking at what Jordan did wrong.....and not going after the messenger who exposed Jordan for is false claims.
It seems when Kurtz and others went after that Gannon guy, they did not address the accuracy of his articles. They just attacked HIM. Not his work. They have yet to point out where his articles on that Talon News are bogus.
STOP SELLING WEAPONS TO TERRORIST!
And in 1998 our battle was to try and force the MSM to cover a story so it would get some traction. Now in 2005, we were able to bring the Eason Jordan story along with no help whatsoever from the MSM. A sea change in the information power structure.
Curious. What is a truth maker?
The only way that will happen is if islam died out all together. Not going to happen. There will always be those who follow the religion word for word, fundamentalist. Radical islamofascism is nothing more or less than fundamental islam.
Yes, the new McCarthyism, kind of like the old. It consists of the Left lying about those on the Right.
Good catch. Looks like Frenchy slipped up and revealed his true perception of his job.
...who didn't even try to explain to its readers why it hadn't bother to report on these accusations until the article annoucing his resignation, which they planted on in the Business section.
WRONG! Eason Jordan wasn't merely questioning Bush's policy. Many have done that and reamin in place in their MSM jobs. Jordan blatantly accused the US Military of targeting and killing journalists. That is slanderous, and should have been questioned and then condemned as it was. It's just that the bloggers were onece again doing the job the MSM should have done, but don't like to do to their own.
Sad conclusion in the Eason Jordan affair, sad day for the freedom of expression in America and sad day again for the future of blogging:
