This is turning into "The Alamo" all over again (Perfectly good movie that seemed to be universally liked by the FReepers that saw it, that was the recipient of a virulent smear campaign by assorted sources on the Right, including some who never saw the movie.)

I'm glad to hear someone else say this. Every review I read or saw of The Alamo panned it and I didn't go at the theaters because of it. I rented it when it came out on DVD and liked it a lot. In fact, I think it was probably the best of the movies to come out last summer. Good to hear I'm not alone.

I liked The Alamo...a bit relativist but not too bad.

Billy Bob's final act as Davey Crockett at the end is a gem in my view.

and yes I know Billy Bob is a nutjob.
