But .. the UN had already withdrawn from Iraq because it was too violent. I don't see how Kerry could believe for one moment that the UN was going to do anything in Iraq.
The thought of Kerry being in charge is totolly freighting to me. He can't even show up and do his job as a Senator - and that is NOT a good recommendation for job promotion.
North Korea is just beginning, Iraq had over twelve years to listen to reason. North Korea will be a changed country in four years or less. The reason for the Mullahs to not have Nukes is because they think it is their sacred duty to kill all non muslims.
If that was the case, then why were sanctions continued for 12 years WITH german support?
The problem is, that people just don`t believe in an US "moral superiority" any more. They heard false reasons for an agressive war, and that made them just sceptical. The Powerpoint Show at the UN has not been forgotten...
I've been to Dachau, don't talk to me about moral superiority when the same and worse was occuring in Iraq. As far a the 'false' reasons, get your terms right. The UN (including germany) determined that Saddam had and desired WMD. Numerous resolution over 12 years (supported by germany) agreed to the interpretation of the intelligence. Now to call something 'false' you must interpret that the presentation as deliberate. What the presentation did was present the same intelligence that the UN had agreed on over a 12 year period. Had germany and france not forced delays, it is likely that the stuff Saddam shipped out to Syria would have been captured.
The real problem is, I repeat, that the US has lost it's moral credibility.
Ask those with purple fingers about moral credability vs. those with their fingers in the 'oil for food' cookie jar. But then again they wouldn't have had the opportunity if germany and france had their way.
Why shouldn`t the Mullahs have Nukes, the US also has them... and the US is the only nations which owns AND have used them already...
Because they would start a nuclear war against Israel in a heartbeat. And remember just WHO drug us into a war where we did use the bomb. BTW, it was that same nuclear shield that prevented the former Soviet union from over-running Europe after WW-2 and allowed france and germany to become obsessed with the finer things in life while the US pulled the load.
France applied for permission to distill tons of high end wines into alcohol - as in the stuff used in rubbing alcohol, cleaners, etc.
Totally "wrong written" and falls way short on facts.
Bye, bye.
The very charge that the US has no credibility is in itself a patent insult and completely wrong and unjust. Saddam Hussein was an international criminal. He had mistreated his own people in the past, had invaded and taken over a neighboring country and clearly had WMD after the Gulf War. He had not cooperated with weapons inspectors. Collective security of the United Nations means absolutely nothing if there is no force to coerce non-law-abiding miscreants like Saddam Hussein. The French and others were trying to get around sanctions, so there was obviously no will on the part of France to a thing to ensure that the law is obeyed. It is a quite appropriate police action in the realm of international law for a miscreant like Saddam Hussein to be brought to heal militarily. France and Germany were not willing to approve, and thus they made the UN meaningless and irrelevant, since they were preventing the UN from doing precisely what it should be doing if there is to be any sort of international law. This is NOT a question of might makes right or of lack of moral credibility or of evil motives on behalf of the US!!!!!!!! The fact that you can even say such a thing shows that you have been brainwashed to think that the US is evil and our motives are evil, when any true friend could plainly see that they are not!!!!!!!!!!!! As for WMD, the best intelligence from the Clinton Administration, France and the UN all said that he had WMD, and he in any event NEVER cooperated with inspectors to show that he did not, and the earlier inspectors in the 90s had clearly seen WMD then. And Saddam, a repeated scoffer at international law, was by his very nature a weapon of mass destruction since his past behavior certainly showed him willing to uobtain and use WMD against the US. And the US is the only appropriate judge as to what constitutes a security threat to the US. The UN Charter allws nations the right to self-defense. No America-hating Schroeder or Chirac will EVER have a veto over the US's right to defend itself. And multilateral consensus does NOT mean that Erurope vetoes or determines what the US should do without its consent. That is European unilateralism, plain and simple.
We elected Hitler and we think the Americans have elected their Hitler?
If you can't do everything..do nothing?
If all people serving under tyranny are not free, we cannot approve of freeing anyone?
We do not approve of the war in the Iraq..but we want in on the results?
Is that the attitude?
OUTRAGEOUS
it makes no sents
it makes no scents
it makes no since
Oh, nevernind - just put this pancake on your head.

The Willing
In addition to the United States and the Iraqi forces, military personnel from 26 other countries are currently on the ground in Iraq, helping to bring peace and security, working on reconstruction projects, and engaging in humanitarian missions throughout the country. This is a tribute to those thousands of military men and women from around the world, some of them well-known, others less so, but all doing good work for the future of Iraq.
PHOTOGRAPHS SHOW MILITARY FROM MANY COUNTRIES INCLUDING MANY FROM EUROPE.
