*** VERY POWERFUL EXTREMELY EFFECTIVE VIDEO ON IMPORTANCE OF TEENS & YOUNG ADULTS WEARING SEAT BELTS

Posted on 02/07/2005 4:45:48 AM PST by InfantryMarine

Very powerful (not gory) and extremely effective short video of the importance of teens and young adults wearing (or anyone)seat belts.

I think this is one of the most important items ever passed along.

PLEASE VIEW IT AND FORWARD IT TO EVERYONE YOU KNOW. It MAY SAVE A LIFE.

PARTICULARLY those with teens or young adults!!!

FORCE YOU KIDS AND THEIR FRIENDS TO WATCH IT IF NEED BE.

Much more powerful and effective than any "Be Safe Lecture" could possibly be.

It may just well save their lives!

ChadGore,

Thanks for correcting the hot link.

This should be required viewing for young teens WEEKLY!

This is why I don't have a dozen stuffed animals or any other possible projectile on the dash of my truck. Too many things fly around in a wreck.

I can care less if you follow the laws designed to protect you, but I sure as hell care about the laws which are designed to protect ME. If you don't want government in your lives, stay off the government's roads.

If you've ever been in even a 30 MPH accident you come to realize how impossible it is to brace your body using just your hands on the steering wheel.

On Christmas eve, my nephew was in a tremendous wreck. He was the passenger.

Like his uncle (me) he is allergic to seat belts. He did not wear it. When the car went airborne, it rotated clockwise.

He fell out. He was very seriously injured.

The driver, wearing his seat belt, continued on with the car to impact. The car was crushed. So was the driver. The passenger seat where my nephew sat was non existent.

So if the world worked according to you, he would be dead too.

They play that video constantly on TV here in Ireland. Your right about the dangers of not wearing seat belts, but every night we are subjected to an array of gory and disturbing ads involving adults and children killed crashes. They're horrible to watch and I hate my children seeing them.

Thanks for posting. I know from personal experience how important it is to wear a seat belt. I was in an accident and the seat and shoulder belt kept me in front of the steering wheel (and in control of my vehicle) and kept me from flying through the windshield or otherwise out of the car.

Thanks....now lets see one where a car goes off a bridge into water and the seat belt CANNOT BE UNLOCKED!

For starters, I AM one of the OWNERS of the Government, not the other way around. (We all are, when you think about it, We the People, that is.)

But the part I don't get is that you seem to need a law to wear a seat belt, helmet, etc.

Imho, this is a great video because it shows the multiple collisions which occur inside the vehicle with fixed objects and other passengers. It really brings the point home. What person wants to be the literal instrument of the death/debilitation of those they love?

That said, seat belts have been around a long time, and people could use them before there was a law. Why do you NEED a LAW? (Unless you are one of the people benefitting from the revenue stream generated by writing tickets to people who do not have a strap in their lap, of course.)

LOL two absolutely insane theories. Not onlike the old cigarette commericals touting the health benefits of smoking. Thanks for sharing.

And you've been severly outvoted. Get over it.
