Each individual county was named as a party to the lawsuit. The judge ruled that that is not necessary for the case and dismissed them. As others have said, it should only help Rossi as with less people on the opposing side, there are less people to argue against, depose, and have testify. I am more and more thinking that is a Republican victory!!!

They have been dropped from the action. It is not unexpected or necessarily a bad thing. Discovery may be effected but the case is still intact.

I'll give it a try. The seemingless endless parade of county lawyers each having to contribute their say in this would drag the case down and cause the clock to run out.

But county lawyers are not needed for discovery to go forward.

The poster cnnectthedots also points out that had the pubblies not named counties in the suit, the dem lawyers could petition for dismissal based on all potential parties not being named, basically a mistrial. The lawyers for the Rossi side seem to be very competent.
