A Day in the Life of President Bush (photos): 2.3.05
AP, yahoo.com, whitehouse.gov ^ | Thursday February 3, 2005 | GretchenM

President and Mrs. Bush attended the National Prayer Breakfast in DC this morning.

President Bush took his "Social Security can be fixed" message directly to Americans.

The Senate voted 60-36 to confirm Judge Alberto Gonzales as United States Attorney General, with all of the "no" votes coming from Democrats and Democratic-leaning Independent Jim Jeffords of Vermont.

Any other descriptions of what the president or his chief advisors did today will appear next to the photos.

Enjoy today's visit to Sanity Island!

Fortunately, President Bush is tackling the problem intelligently, instead of letting it get worse and leaving it for future generations to solve at which time it would be a disaster. I remember when it was first started in the thirties. Ir began as a payroll deduction of .25% on a small amount of earnings and after you passed that amount earned in the year, the deduction stopped for that year. Because of backbreaking work, a lot of men did not live past fifty five and never received any benefits. Now the situation has changed and President Bush is explaining this quite well. I think he will be able to get Congress to do what needs to be done, but the problem has been allowed to grow so serious that it is going to be difficult.

Hey tommix2! How you doin'?

You are making sense about SS. Too bad the Dims are so blinded by their need for power that they aren't willing to do what is good for the country.

Ooooooo! Love that second picture--he looks at peace and so relaxed! A man who knows who he is and Who's he is!

Thanks for all the pictures, Gretchen--there are no bad pictures of our President, but these were especially good ones!

I'm doing real well ,thankyou. I'm determined to live long enough to get back all I put into Social Security. Are you still on the West coast, or back home? They have been talking about fixing Social Security for more than thirty years and doing nothing.

Where do they get the energy?

Because they keep decent hours and don't party half the night away, like some of us here do-virtually! ;^)

Hi Tom, glad to "see" you again.

There's a thread on FR with quotes from Clinton, Reid, Durbin and other liberals which show how two-faced they are about Social Security reform. Do they honestly think no one would look up their old quotes?

Here's the link:

I should have added that the internet has once again come up with information that the MSM is ignoring. I sure hope it spreads.

Hi, kitkat. How are you ? I read your comments on this thread all the time and always remember what youdid for me when I was starting to get sick and too dumb to know what was happening. Thanks for the link. I'll check it out. I'm glad President Bush got that finance prof to participate this morning. It is going to take a big educational effort to explain the social security problem to the people, and the dims are no help at all.

Are you still on the West coast...

Still in blue Seattle. It'll probably be home for another year as it will take me that long to finish my dissertation work. They really discourage leaving before you finish because there's the chance that you'll never finish. I'm hoping to move to a red state, tho. I'm sure it will cut down on the aggravation factor. : )

Hey Kitty,

I hope you enjoyed the dose. I haven't posted for awhile, the dose has just been so long lately, that I barely get through reading and looking at the pictures. It's late enough for tonight though. See you later!

God Bless,

Eragon

Where do they get the energy?

Exercise

Sensible eating

Early to bed and early to rise....

I was thinking about this as I got up (late) this morning.

To your accurate list, I would add prayer. Their own, and the prayers of millions for their health and well being.

Excercise, good eating habits (including lots of water), plenty of rest, and the prayers of God's people.

Interesting to see actual blackboard with writing written in white chalk. You rarely see that in the UK because allergies and asthma suffers it is not politically correct most schools use drywipe white boards.

That is what I see in the coming four years, tom.

President Bush, out among the people, obviously caring for them (us), trying to solve problems (like SS, which all of us know is in trouble, in spite of the turnaround of the dems who now say it's fine), continuing to fight and win the war on terror.....

And in contrast, the desperate, hapless dems, obstructing, being beholding to gay rights groups, feminists and envirowackos, and veering even farther to the left.

I see GOOD things ahead for the Republican party!

Did you see that there have been studies showing that the whiteboards are bad for children too, snugs? (visually, I think).

We may be forced to go back to the old individual slates! :o)

I agree O Reilly was talking about the English system and how that had got in a mess a few years back and basically what he described I could not recognize what I know happens in the UK.

We still get a State Pension but it is not earnings related, we then tax relief to take out a private plan as well. What he was saying to me was completely a different issue and basically the insurance companies selling the insurance incorrectly which now has been regulated and should not happen again. It happen at the same time purely because of the earnings related aspect coming off our state pensions and more people wanted to take a private pension out but was a completely separate thing from the state pension which still exists.

I too am very delighted that Laura is taking interest in development of young boys. They sure need it. God bless em, so many are growing up without fathers at home. They need to know how important they are to our communities and to all society.
