Think of this from the confused Libs...they said we could not, should not and would not have the election today, and even if we did(contradiction right there) it would be worthless, invalid, etc. But if someone did not get to vote before the curfew, they will complain that those who didn't get to vote in the election that could not, should not and would not be held today and would be invalid even if it were held, have now rendered the election null and void.
I know, I know, I couldn't follow this tortured trail as I wrote this, but you know what I mean...

Official turnout stats? Which parties did well in the nationwide and regional lists? Will one party have a majority or will there be a multi-party coalition? How are the various ethnic and religious sects represented? All questions that need answers now that Iraq's first free election is history.

Just watched some of the video of voters on the morning shows. You can see that the people voting are invested in the process. It was great to see.
MSM doesn't want to call this a victory. However George Will and Cokie ROberts were both very hopeful and positive. This can only be seen as a good sign.

Explosion at Spanish Hotel.
Not a laughing matter, but this just came to mind:
Zarqawi to Iraqis: No vote or we bomb Spain...again.

I'm so glad I taped the Effin interview. Only watched snips of it, but it sounds like Tim nailed him pretty good on several points.
It will be interesting to see if the Swift Vets follow up on his saying he would sign the 180...of course, he qualified it immediately saying "the others" should release all their records. Still, it would be fun. Prolly get lost in all the post election coverage, tho.
I'm still shocked that Tim asked him about it. Where were you 4 months ago, TIM?!

With a difference: the Spaniards surrendered to Al Qaeda. The Iraqis didn't.
