It's really cool that so many Americans from so many diverse backgrounds are working together with the Iraqis to make this work. Those kids from inner cities and so many other places are creating something, they are making history. This is the biggest thing they'll ever do. What heroes they are. Their kids and grandkids will be so proud of them.

I know, I feel it. Friday morning I held and consoled my 18 month old grandson while we watched his father board the bus to be driven to the plane along with his fellow comrades to be deployed to Iraq for the second time.

The 18 month old was doing just great until the military buses started to pull out and it was as if he knew that he would not see his dad for a while.

But as you posted, their kids will be very, very proud of them.

Wow, what a hero he is!! Is it your son or son-in-law?

God Bless him for all he has done and will do. Your grandson certainly has a hero for a Dad.

Yes, they will.....and their parents will be, too! Will keep your son and the family in my prayers. It's hard to believe the baby is 18 months old!
