Either a left-wing nut case or a foreign terrorist who couldn't resist bringing his jacket into the country with him.
From the looks of it, I would guess it's the latter. It's good that for once they released actual pictures.

Troutfishing terrorists... I think Homeland Security is reaching on this one.

There were three of them right in a row, but M.I.'s was posted first. There might even be an earlier one--someone sent me a link in email, not sure if it's an earlier one or this one.

Maybe analysts will be able to figure out which buildings are depicted and deter the next attack. "Midnite" suggests a nighttime operation is planned.
Grrrr. I'd like to see the snake who shed this skin lying on a Texas Highway - roadkill.

There is something fishy about this story.I live within 30 miles of Hebbronville,Texas and there is no hiway 285 anywhere near.

"Midnite" suggests a nighttime operation is planned.
Not necessarilly. For about 30 years I have heard (and used) the term "midnight acquisition" to describe an unauthorized (though usually benevolent) use of company property. I would interpret "midnight" to mean "clandestine" or "unauthorized" more than the actual time it takes place.

This is getting ridiculous. Someone leaves a stupid jacket with some hideous markings lying somewhere and the News Media is all over it and some are running around like the sky is falling. Remember the hubbub over the supposed Terrorists on a mission to Boston.
This whole thing is taking on the trappings of Mass Hysteria and I for one wish the Media would put a damper on it and the authorities quietly go about doing their job without the glare of the spotlight of frenzied reporting whipping the masses up.

Terrorist's clothing discovered in Texas?Excerpt: The discovery in Texas of a jacket featuring an Arabic military badge and an airplane headed toward a tower with the words "Midnight Mission" is fueling fears of a possible connection to terrorism.
According to a Department of Homeland Security morning brief marked "For official use only," a report from Customs and Border Protection noted that on Dec. 23, Border Patrol agents stationed in Hebbronville, Texas, found a jacket with an Arabic patch in a lay-up area on Highway 285.
The jacket is said to have a total of three patches, two sewn on the back, and one on the inside.
The two patches on the back were an Arabic military badge and one with the letters "Daiwa," while the patch on the inside read "Midnight Mission."
This "Midnight Mission" patch features a logo depicting "an airplane flying over a building and headed towards a tower," according to the brief.
The military patch with the Arabic writing shows the image of a lion's head, with wings and a parachute emanating from the animal.

Please let me know if you want ON or OFF my Texas ping list!. . .don't be shy.
No, you don't HAVE to be a Texan to get on this list!
