I have said over and over, we need something like the Texas Rangers, or the RCMP. Where is Dudley DoRight when you need him?

Hey, don't miss this one:

The U.S. Attorney and the FBI have now started an investigation into vote fraud in Milwaukee! A Task Force was announced this morning. I bet a lot of Wisconsin Dems are sweatin' bullets today.

Let's hope King County can't be far behind!

I hope the Republicans stay on top of this.

The spirit of Paul Revere lives on out here.

Here's what the WSRP will be presenting in court along with the hardcopies.

Excerpts from Democrat Senators’ Responses
From Constituents asking that the legislature call for a Revote

Senator Tracy J. Eide – 30th District

“I would like to re-emphasize that there is already a process to follow and our action today does not seal off that process. If anybody here can convince me that the court could not meet, and could not decide these issues, could not take evidence if we did not delay, then I would have voted for a delay because I want to make sure that this election is accurate, that the trust of the public is restored.”

Senator Darlene Fairley – 32nd District

“My position is that this issue is now before the courts and that is where it belongs. Our constitution calls for a separation of powers. If the courts decide we need a revote, then we will have one.”

Senator Jim Hargrove – 24th District

“I would like to re-emphasize that there is already a process to follow and our action today does not seal off that process. If anybody here can convince me that the court could not meet, and could not decide these issues, could not take evidence if we did not delay, then I would have voted for a delay because I want to make sure that this election is accurate, that the trust of the public is restored.”

Senator Mary Margaret Haugan – 10th District

“If there is fraud in the election process it needs to be proven in a court of law not in the legislature.”

Senator Ken Jacobson – 46th District

“Legal challenges on the validity of the results or voter fraud need to be decided by the courts, not the legislature.”

Senator Karen Keiser – 33rd District

“If there is to be any action concerning this election, Washington courts provide the proper venue, not the Legislature. In the courts all relevant facts can be presented and examined closely, leading to a fair, balanced, unemotional and nonpartisan decision.”

Senator Adam Kline – 37th District

“At this point in the process I believe it is the role of the courts, not the Legislature, to decide whether the alleged flaws in the system invalidate the election.”

Senator Jeanne Kohl Welles – 36th District

“I believe the matter is properly before the courts.”

Senator Rosemary McAuliffe – 1st District

“We are following the law and allowing the process to be conducted as the constitution requires. It is in the courts, where it should be and my responsibility is to the work of the people.”

Senator Margarita Prentice – 11th District

“It is important that the law is strictly adhered to. Currently, there is not a provision for a revote other than a successful court action challenging the election result.”

Senator Marilyn Rasmussen – 2nd District

“This issue is in the courts and they will address the many unanswered questions about the governor’s election.”

Senator Phil Rockefeller – 23rd District

“And also as allowed by state law, that result (the manual recount) is now being contested by the State Republican Party in Superior Court in Chelan County. If the final court ruling is that the election must be set aside and another election is needed, I will be among those legislators who will accept the challenge to do what it takes for that to happen.”

Senator Brian Weinstein – 41st District

“There is no provision in state law for a re-vote, other that as a result of a successful court action challenging the election result. To grant the legislature the enormous power of creating a re-vote would not only aggravate partisan politics, but would also create an alarming precedent by which state senators and representatives could work to undo the outcomes of the elections.”

Excerpts from Democrat Representatives’ Responses
From Constituents asking that the Legislature call for a Revote

Rep. Sherry Appleton – 23rd District

“… the election is being contested, as the law allows, in the courts. It will be decided in Chelan County in the Superior Court.”

Rep. Brian Blake – 19th District

“The law is clear – it is the Court’s responsibility to determine if an election is valid when contested. They are the only ones truly qualified to do this, and it would be alarming violation of our Constitutional separation of powers for the Legislature to intervene in such a decision.”

Rep. Maralyn Chase – 32nd District

“It would inappropriate for the Legislature, as a partisan body, to take judicial action to evaluate those claims. The proper place for these allegations to be investigated is in the court. If the courts find evidence of major malfeasance or fraud, then they will be able to throw out the results of the recount and call for another election.”

Rep. Eileen Cody – 34th District

“At this point it is the court’s job to determine if there was election fraud or government wrong doing. They will decide if the election must be overturned, or if the results stand.”

Rep. Hans Dunshee – 44th District

“Our state framers were populists who distrusted too much power in one place. They did not want the Legislature to manhandle the other two branches of government, so they took power away from the House and Senate and gave it to the secretary of state and our courts. Dino Rossi is filing a lawsuit and taking his case to the courts. That’s the right decision for him.”

Rep. Bill “Ike” Eickmeyer – 35th District

“At this point there is nothing the Legislature can do. We have to wait for a decision from the Supreme Court whether the demand for a re-vote will be considered.”

Rep. Mark Eriks – 1st District

“The final step is for the election to be ‘legally contested’ in the Supreme Court, which I believe will now occur. This is where the final decision should reside.”

Rep. Tami Green – 28th District

“It is the Court’s responsibility to determine if an election is valid when contested, and it would be alarming violation of our Constitutional separation of powers for the Legislature to intervene in such a decision.”

Rep. Phyllis Gutierrez Kenney – 46th District

“The election followed the procedures of our state. This process includes a machine recount followed by a manual recount. The final option for Dino Rossi is to contest the election results in the State Superior Court. This is where the final decisions resides.”

Rep. Zack Hudgins – 11th District

“If there is a problem with an election, the remedy should be sought in the courts as the law states.”

Rep. Sam Hunt – 22nd District

“In my view, there is no mechanism that allows the legislature to cancel election results and call for another election for governor.”

Rep. Ross Hunter – 41st District

“The court case is still pending, and the correct venue to resolve this issue.”

Rep. Derek Kilmer – 26th District

“I feel strongly that the judicial system should be the primary arbiter of determining whether the law has been followed. I believe it would set a dangerous precedent if the legislature determines election results every time there is a close election.”

Rep. Kelli Linville – 42nd District

“The matter is currently before the Chelan County Court system, which is the next legal step in resolving this election.”

Rep. Mark Miloscia – 30th District

“I don’t think you want the legislature (a political body) calling for a reelection whenever there are mistakes made in an election you describe without proof. The law states that we will have a new election if it can be proven to a judge that the proven mistakes will turn an election to the other person.”

Rep. Dawn Morrell – 25th District

“The courts are the place to make these arguments, not the legislature.”

Rep. Edward B. Murray – 43rd District

“Let me address some of your concerns about the accuracy of this election. It is my sincere hope that these problems will be accounted for as the voter lists are updated and this matter is pursued through our judicial system.”

Rep. Timm Ormsby – 3rd District

“The final decision resides with the courts.”

Rep. Eric Pettigrew – 37th District

“Dino Rossi has decided not to attempt to persuade the legislature but to argue his points in court. This is Dino Rossi’s right; a right we can not interfere with. Therefore, we must wait on the court’s verdict.”

Rep. Mary Helen Roberts – 21st District

“The final step is for the election to be legally contested before the Supreme Court, which I believe will now occur. I feel strongly that it would be a big mistake for the Legislature, a highly partisan body, to insert itself into this controversy beyond exercising its time honored role of accepting the certification recommendation from the County Auditors and the Secretary of State.”

Rep. Shay Schual-Berke – 33rd District

“The impartial, non-partisan judicial system is the appropriate place to look carefully and comprehensively into whether there should be a new election. I will support any final judicial ruling.”

Rep. Geoff Simpson – 47th District

“The issue is in the courts where it belongs. I will live with whatever decision they make.”

Rep. Larry Springer – 45th District

“…I believe we have done the right thing to date by sending the issue to our court system for resolution. The Republicans filed a lawsuit in Superior Court and I firmly believe it would be imprudent, and a very bad precedent, for a highly partisan body like the legislature to intervene before the court system has rendered a verdict.”

Rep. Brian Sullivan – 21st District

“… the final step is for the election to be ‘legally contested” in the Supreme Court, which I believe will now happen.”

Rep. Pat Sullivan – 47th District

“The call for a revote through the legislative process, while tempting, raises a number of concerns. The greatest concern is the precedent that would be set by the Legislature if they were to legislate a revote.”

Rep. Dave Upthegrove – 33rd District

“The venue to contest the election is through the court system.”

Rep. Deb Wallace – 17th District

“The court system will now consider the evidence and decide if the election of Governor was done appropriately. This is the election process set out by state law. Our forefathers and mothers anticipated and made provision for challenges to our election system. Now we will see the system at work.”

Great summary, BFB; I've been watching WA FReepers collect and forward those.

I think we've got the lying bastards on this point.

I tried joing the WAC Washington Athletic Club back in the 1970's, they did not take people of color or people of the Jewish faith back then.
