Piggy Non-Non is not a factor in the big picture. More like a mute drive-by protestor that's fashionably dressed.
"We are all sinners. But jerks revel in their sins."
New tag line!!!
I like Peggy, but her comments on this were dumb.
That really hits the nail on the head.
this says it all.
thanks for the ping, I loved it.
Thanks.
wow This is a crystal-clear, dynamite redefinition of the problem.
I love it.
I disagree - Hindus with their multiple Gods would probably find offense to:
1. Thou shalt have no other gods before me
2. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; And showing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.
And Buddhists and Confucians who do not believe in a godhead would also have a problem with these particular commandemnts.
Thanks for the ping, bitt. I appreciate it. It was a good read.
Thanks for the ping! Wouldn't have missed this for all the Jimmy Carter interviews on what he'd do in President Bush's place. (Yeah, like crash a few helicopters in the desert and "observe" while the communists pervert the election process in South America.)(Everytime someone mentions the Iraqi elections, I remember PJ's book, "Give War a Chance.")
bttt
A great check for writing quality is whether it has "clarifying inventiveness and translucent conviction." This example does.
This is one tiny inaccuracy. The anti-capital punishment weirdos didn't protest the execution of Tim McVeigh. They were strangely silent, and some in fact were all for it. And I suspect the same would be true for Terry Nichols' execution.
P. J. O'Rourke is the guy who said, IIRC, that the reason the Soviet Union died was because people were unwilling to wear Bulgarian shoes.
thanks for that one!
oops wrong post...
This is the article I meant to say, "thanks for that one"!
