Unless you have been living in a cave the last few days you are aware of those wacky Christian Right nutjobs taking inexplicable swipes at the beloved cartoon character SpongeBob and the notion that we should all simply love and respect each other. What could possibly be wrong with that?
The answer, of course, is that the Mainstream Media has once again shown themselves to be completely inept in actually researching a story and attempting to behave as journalists. The reporting on this story has been little more than juvenile sneering and jeering from the sidelines while making no attempt to actually report what the story is about. Their lack of investigative and objective reporting is disgraceful as always, but perhaps not entirely unexpected. It has fallen instead to the world of bloggers, commentators and pundits to report what the media has chosen to bury, distort and ignore.
Despite the attempt by his detractors to make this a Dr. Dobson vs. SpongeBob debate there is a little more to it than that. From the outset, let's be clear that this issue is not about objections to any specific cartoon characters. Instead, Dr. Dobson is concerned that these popular animated personalities are being exploited by an organization that's determined to promote the acceptance of homosexuality among our nation's youth. Focus on the Family Website
So where would such an idea come from?
The We Are Family Foundation produced a guide entitled Writing for Change coupled with a gateway video featuring a myriad of familiar and beloved puppet and cartoon characters singing a rather benign modern rendering of the song We Are Family. The guide was published in partnership with the Oregon State University Difference, Power and Discrimination Program whose mission statement reads...

Here's how I pulled it up on Google. I use IE 6.0. Go to the file you have posted in #15. Right-click a link, and copy shortcut. Paste the shortcut into the google search box, and click Search. Then click Show Google's Cache of (your shortcut url listed here.)
I don't know the best way to get it out, but if I can fit the files on my server, I can play temporary host until I need the space for something else.
***Here's how I pulled it up on Google. ***
I'm pulling the pdfs down now.
Good. My method didn't work for files hosted on their own site. They must have deleted them. It's hard to pull away now, but I gotta get some sleep before hubby wakes me up. Good night for real this time.
Sleep well!
We'll see what we can do with these in the morning.
Maybe call Dobson!
Has anyone gone to Dobson or WorldNetDaily yet? This is great stuff!
Congratulations

No, I don't have good contacts - do you?
Unfortunately not. But FrontPageMag.com (David Horowitz site), NewsMax.com (Christopher Ruddy Editor-In-Chief), and WorldNetDaily.com (Josef Farah) are probably as close to supporters of a conservative cultural agenda as anyone in the 'second-tier' of online journalism.
My daughter attended Focus' Institute for a semester a few years ago, and it was a life-changing event for her. I don't think she has maintained any personal connections with the profs, though.
Give it a shot. And, God be with you.

I have fired the files off to a contact at Dobson's Focus on the Family
Prayers for your success.

The We Are Family Foundation is pleased to provide Tolerance.org's Declaration of Tolerance, part of the Southern Poverty Law Center's National Campaign for Tolerance
Tolerance is a personal decision that comes from a belief that every person is a treasure [except unborn babies and Christians]. I believe that America's diversity is its strength [as long as everybody agrees with me; otherwise they're ignorant, insensitive bigots]. I also recognize that ignorance, insensitivity and bigotry can turn that diversity into a source of prejudice and discrimination [see?].
To help keep diversity a wellspring of strength and make America a better place for all, I pledge to have respect for people whose abilities, beliefs, culture, race, sexual identity or other characteristics are different from my own [but if their abilities, beliefs, culture, race, sexual identity or other characteristics are different from my own, they are ignorant, insensitive bigots whose views should be outlawed and who should be forced to wholly embrace my perverted views as their own].
You are correct....I was at that site a week or so ago....all those links were there for parents, teachers, students.
When I went there earlier today, they were all gone.
PetroniusMaximus retrieved them! Take a look at my profile page, and the next post I put up. I'm still working on it.
I "retrieved" them, too.....I've even saved the html of the screen with the "parents" "teachers" "students" on the web site....I will put them on disc and have them handy for future needs, if necessary. I've also downloaded each of their "101 Ways to Combat Prejudice" Home, School, Church, Community..etc. And downloaded the pdf for their book "Close the Book on Hate" (19 pages).
You guys are doing a great job, btw.
Thanks. Somebody must be paying attention, because my website is loading very slowly now. I hope it doesn't crash.
I just noticed that, myself...because I just looked and it took FOREVER to load.
You have FReepmail.
Yay! "Gender Free" nouns!
My life is complete.
(Do these people actually get paid with my tax money?)
Thanks for pulling that lesson outline from Google. I cannot BELIEVE they are going to go through all that crap (sorry) with first-graders. This really makes me sick.
