Why shouldn't a volcano join the fray?

There are about a dozen volcanoes around the world erupting right now, just like there always are, every day, every year.

Actually seismicity at St. Helens has declined a lot in the last month.

Growing domes can have collapses, etc. Weather has also been bad. Don't seem to be the slightest indications of any impending explosive eruption.

I agree. It has been low lately - low, but steady.

So either:

The pressure has been relieved and we can expect it to die down or
the lave dome that has been growing was blocking the pressure, and we can expect something major when the pressure finally gives

Your rubbing off on me Strat.

Slides and Avalanches happen this time of year.

We went from an Artic freeze to a Pineapple Express result slides.

I noticed Peanut (Carter) Country had three micro quakes.
