Instruments on St. Helens cease transmitting
KING-5
Posted on 01/17/2005 5:20:23 PM PST by djf
KING 5 news is reporting that the instruments on Mt. St. Helens have ceased transmitting data. They say it could be due to a steam eruption, or a rock slide, some kind of major event. Indications are that right before they stopped, the lava dome was growing at a very rapid pace.

Now let's see... was that 2 AA both in the same way or was I supposed to put one in one way and one in the other way?

I agree. It has been low lately - low, but steady.
So either:
The pressure has been relieved and we can expect it to die down or
the lave dome that has been growing was blocking the pressure, and we can expect something major when the pressure finally gives

How can the volcano even think about erupting when there are people suffering from a tsunami in Indonesia? Doesn't it know that it is going to cause people to spend money investigating its behavior that could be better spent on the tsunami?

My body's burnin' like a lava from a Mauna Loa
My heart's crackin' like a Krakatoa
Krakatoa, east of Java, molten bodies, fiery lava
Fire, fire, burnin' bright
Turn on your love lava
Turn on your lava light
Fire, oh volcano, over you
Don't let your lava love turn to stone
Keep it burnin'
Keep it burnin' here at home
