FORT WORTH, Texas -- Here is proof that cats really have nine lives.
One cold morning while in the backyard of a Nebraska homeowner Ruth Bogenreif, a cat was taking a drink out of a heated bird bath. Something apparently startled the cat and she jumped, wet paws and all, onto a chain link fence.
In freezing temperatures, the cats small feet froze instantly to the metal.
"He was hanging with his paws froze to the fence. His head, the back of his neck, was in the water," said Bogenreif.
Using warm water, Bogenreif and her grandchildren freed the cat from the metal and then turned it over to the local shelter.
"She's not walking well on her right leg, we're assuming muscle paralysis at this point. Hopefully she'll be getting better as the swelling goes down," said Pam Wiese with the Humane Society.
I have often posted that pic in response to some of the hateful anti-cat pics that so often appear in these type of threads. Guess I am just getting older, or wiser, or dumber, don't know which, but I had already decided to have the pic pulled even before Hi Heels posted to me her comment, which I misunderstood.
Lighten up, Francis...
If the "visual" isn't funny to ya', fine...Go to your local Humane Society today and volunteer, it seems you have an abundant amount of time on your hands...
#44 pulled, now I am curious...

I just don't find humor when any animal is in pain. I'm sure a baby in the same situation would be funny to you too? No difference to me. Pain is Pain.
We just moved to Indiana and my kids keep telling me they're going to lick the pole to our basketball goal in the front yard. I keep telling them to make sure they have a glass of almost hot water when they do because I won't come out to help them. ;-)
"....animal is in pain. I'm sure a baby...."
disconnect...
I do rescue work. Six dogs in my care right now. One blind. But my daughter...? Priority for her is WWWWWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYWWWWWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYWWWWWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYWWWWWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYWWWWWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYWWWWWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYWWWWWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYWWWWWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYWWWWWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYWWWWWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYWWWWWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYWWWWWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYWWWWWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYWWWWWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYWWWWWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYWWWWWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYWWWWWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYY (infinity) higher. Not the same thing. Pain is pain, but because someone laughs because a dumb dorky cat gets stuck on a frozen fence does not, on any plane of reality, mean they would laugh if a child had been injured....IMHO.
man. That's eerie.
thanks...
The Mole Rat has retired.
that cat has beautiful legs......... ;-)
Yes...thank you. I told her to search on her own. She says she will after she has a belt or two. I suggested several....
When you search use; Naked Mole Rat
Told her to search using: Naked Mole Rat.
>>Where have I gone wrong?!?
Choosing "Cat," not "Dog". :-)
OK, thanks. And I will prepare myself for the shock of such a sight by donning my Horror-filtering Goggles and attaching my Hurl Harness. I'm in the middle of doctor's orders right now though, and I have several more tonics that I must force down.
Hmmm...didn't read that in the story. Are you assuming this cat was sweet? I hear he has the reputation of being "one mean Tom" and is looking into rumors that other cats were snickering at his predicament. :-)
