CALLER: And all you need is, is it worth it? Is dropping water on some guy's head worth saving -- of course it's worth saving three, 4,000 lives or whatever, but is it worth saving one? And my answer would be yes. You know, so it doesn't have to be a catastrophic event we avoid, it would just have to be to save one life.

RUSH: That's a good point.

CALLER: Because we're not killing the people we're interrogate, we're just making life a little uncomfortable for them.

Bingo. It's not rocket science. And then Dems do know it, but they don't care. They want to destroy this country to make it into the socialist Euromerica they dream about, and the peasants will eat tofu and spend more time with their pets than their children while the Smart Ones will dine on caviar in their lofts and townhouses.

I'll say this for Rush: he knows how the collectivist mind-set works. He may not describe the condition of government by self-congratulations in French intellectual terms, but he is one of the best at dissecting the idiocies of the anointed.

He sounded very put off today, I thought maybe he broke up with his lady friend. I am glad he finally talked about the Washington state gov. race . I was wondering when talk radio would pick it up.

The principle of a receipt is good;

Only if it shows that you voted. Not if it shows how you voted, as you note above. Here's another reason why the dimbulbs might want such receipts, though: vote-buying. Figure it this way: The only way a ward heeler is going to put out good money for votes is if he can guarantee that the votes he buys are actually cast. Now, he could go into the booth with the voters and look over their shoulders -- which is why that is illegal (not that it stops the determined ones.) But with printed receipts, all the difficulties vanish away. Just bring your receipt to "Mad Mikey", showing the proper candidate has been selected, and collect your lunch money. Bring in a dozen at once, whether you voted them yourself or are brokering for your street, and get even more!

There's a reason ballots are supposed to be secret.

BOXER: For most of us in the Senate and the House, we have spent our lives fighting for things we believe in, always fighting to make our nation better. We have fought for social justice. We have fought for economic justice. We have fought for environment justice. We have fought for criminal justice.

"Fighting to make our nation better..."

??? Does that mean killing more babies?

"Fought for social justice..."

??? Does that mean ridiculing and demeaning Black and Hispanic Republicans in Bush's cabinet?

"Fought for economic justice..."

??? What the hell does that mean?

"Fought for environment justice..."

??? What the hell does that mean? Some Gaia manifestation walking into a courtroom?

"Fought for criminal justice."

??? Does that mean letting murders out on furlough?

Babs Boxer is either demented or dangerous.

I agree, don't get the idea that I was ripping on Rush. He's still the #1 man on radio, I was just responding to the poster saying that Rush was great today. There's been many days that Laura Ingraham, Hugh Hewitt, and even Michael Medved have put out better shows than Rush. Rush, however, has had more shows that hit the ball out of the park than all of them put together.

BTW, Laura Ingraham was absofreakinglutely hilarious this morning talking about the attorney general hearings. My whole work crew was laughing our behinds off listening to her. (I'm a union public employee to boot)

Spot on. And if crack can be used as a buy-off, there's no limits and no way to police it.

the issues you raise are the same that caused me to comment above on boxer's husband's business of making a million a year from california workers' compensation.

like most liberals, her idea of "economic justice" is shoving it to this country and to business while raking off a buncha money for themselves.

i think they're hypocrites.

Today was like winning the election all over again!

What a joyous day. We were privy to history today. We watched the complete and total destruction of the Democratic Party.

The best part was that they did it to themselves. The kooks drove them to the edge and the suicidal Boxer drove that party car right off the cliff.

What a great day.

You forgot to mention that the Dems got washed away by an American political tsunami...(after they went over the cliff if you prefer)

I wonder if these liberal scum feel this passionate about the very REAL irregularities in the Washington Gubernatorial race.....

Typical liberal hypocrites!!! These criminals must be expunged from our political process!

Democrat friends of mine from CALIF who know her say that Ms. Boxer is dumber than a box of rocks. Nothing I see here dispels that notion.
