Iowa is the biggest cornfield in the nation. Don't forget the soybeans, hogs and cattle. Oh, and I've heard something like a whopping 5% of Iowans are farmers (or live on farms; I don't recall which).

Living in Vermont should be considered suffering enough! :)

That's good news. I have a half dozen snow machines fueled up & ready to tear up some VAST trails. Christmas break sucked as there was only 3-4" fluffy powder.
Just as long as the snow is up there and not on my wifes 1 1/2 mile ride home from work. The Explorer I had to buy for this type of weather just doesn't seem to be enough for her.

You must be pretty close to Lafayette IN.

Where's Iowa? Is it a state? C'mon, everybody knows what IOWA stands for - Idiots Out Walking Around.
Why else would they live there?

Boy, did we ever have a good soaking in Phoenix!!
We rec'd a few inches in our neck of the woods but it was a little scarry lastnight as we had a tornado warning. Those clouds went right above us and thank goodness, moved further to the northeast.

When Iowa gets 10" of snow, the potatoes don't grow well. When NYC gets 10" of snow, the worlds financial engine get bogged down.

If you live in Pennsylvania, it means it is time to buy eggs, milk and bread... So when you're snowed-in you can make french toast!

We're pretty lucky here in NY. Our local corn is awesome. Of course, I don't have to tell you that I was only kidding about Iowa. You have an interesting history.

Last year my wife flew into Seattle because Portland was closed. I think it was this same week! She then rented a car to drive down to Portland for a business meeting and was going down Mt.Raneir(sp?) when absolute morons with no driving brains chain collided into her and tossed her on the black ice into traffic in the opposite direction, where a tanker truck drove overtop of her car.
If it's slippery in the coastal northwest, STAY AWAY!
