A few months ago, I announced plans to start a conservative, state wide newspaper in my home state of North Carolina. The outpouring of support was overwhelming. The North Carolina Conservative is now a reality!
First of all, we would like to thank our contributors: Charlie Daniels, Dr. Fred Decker, John Plecnik, Rep. John Rhodes, Sen. Fern Shubert, Jason Lewis, Mark Ruscoe, John Armor, Chris Adamo, Al Klemm, Megan Fox, Linda Fryer, Lilly Nelson, Karen Pittman, Lee Ellis, Robert Parks, Frank Salvato, Nancy Salvato, Barbara Stock, Dave Swanson, Resa Kirkland, Mike Nevin, Howard Nemerov, Angela Bertz, Charles Hosler, Doug Giles, Barbara Kralis, Leonard Magruder, Brad Veek, Nathan Tabor and Alan Teitleman. New writers join every day, and we are forever in their debt.
We thank the websites that feature my column, helped us garner support for the newspaper and offered services, including promotion, press releases and content for no other reason than to support a conservative cause. They are the vanguard of the new media, whose effect will be treated with awe and admiration in the near future.
We thank the many conservative groups and individuals in North Carolina who shared their mailing lists with us, free of charge. Thanks to these crusaders for conservatism, The North Carolina Conservative has a mailing list of several hundred thousand conservative North Carolinians. God willing, we will be able to use this list to become the largest circulation newspaper in the state!
Most importantly, we thank our subscribers and advertisers. Your generosity and confidence in this newspaper astound us. Sight unseen, you believed in us enough to give us your hard earned money to make our newspaper happen. Without you, The North Carolina Conservative would only be a dream. Thanks to you, we will change the political landscape of our state.
Lastly, we would like to thank the liberals. Not only do you provide us content with your sedition, lunacy and corruption, but through your vile and vitriolic attacks on this newspaper and me, you have promoted us far more than we could afford to do. Each profanity laden, semi-literate, sanity challenged attack from the protein deficient communists of the left only spurred more conservatives to subscribe to our newspaper. So please, keep calling me everything but a child of God, keep spewing your hatred and threats. You are doing for me what Michael Moore did for President Bush keep it up!
Without further ado, here is our front page, introductory article; this is what you made possible:
January, 2005 marks the first issue of what will soon be the largest circulation, and most influential, newspaper in the state.
The North Carolina Conservative was started by a group of concerned citizens who found the biased reporting of the liberal North Carolina news media intolerable. Under the leadership of Judson Cox (editor in chief) and Rebecca Carroll Cox (managing editor), conservatives across the state, throughout the nation and as far away as Israel have rallied together to right this wrong.
The North Carolina Conservative will report the news that is unreported or under reported by North Carolinas liberal media.
For instance, we will cover:
Governor Easleys shady land deals. How do his biggest supporters seem to know which properties will be purchased by the state?
The Enron style accounting of our state budget.
How North Carolinas drivers license policies encourage illegal immigrants to come to North Carolina.
How illegal immigration endangers our residents, increases our tax burden and undermines our national security.
The NC DOTs blatant quid pro quo that says if your county doesnt donate to the state Democratic Party, your roads wont be fixed.
The high illiteracy rates in our public schools, and the ever changing measurements of competency that obfuscate our states pathetic test scores.
The open lesbianism of Rep. Julia Bozeman, and her agenda to promote gay marriage in North Carolina.
Rampant election fraud, including ballot box stuffing, bought votes and illegal immigrants registered to vote.
Terrorist fund raising and open sedition in our state universities, paid for by our tax dollars.
The North Carolina Conservative will make North Carolinas representatives accountable to the voters by giving an honest presentation of the worthwhile legislation and the misdeeds of both parties. Unlike the liberal media, we will not stack the deck in favor of Democrats and liberal Republicans.
The North Carolina Conservative is a forum and a resource for conservative North Carolinians. We welcome your comments, questions and news tips.
The North Carolina Conservative believes that the overwhelming majority of North Carolinians are conservative, as witnessed by our high church attendance and how our state votes in national elections.
The North Carolina Conservative defines a conservative, as one who seeks to preserve the best aspects of western culture, including the Judeo-Christian values and free market economics enshrined in our Constitution - those things that made America the freest, most prosperous nation on earth. A conservative rejects the failed philosophies of Rousseau and Marx, that have bankrupted every nation that has embraced them, and caused more deaths in the "people's republics," than all of the world's wars combined.
The North Carolina Conservative seeks to promote conservative principles.
The North Carolina Conservative is published at the beginning of each month.
Subscriptions are $40.00 per year. Make checks payable to:

Kudos to the new paper!
Sure hope this catches on nationwide.
We could use a conservative paper in every state.
Great to have a conservative paper, but it won't last long if you don't pump some optimism into it. No one wants to read all that doom-and-gloom in one place.
