"I have a few slogans for the good folks at peta.
Save a fish, eat a shark.
Save a fish, beat a seal."
Uh - shouldn't that be "skin a seal"?

"Silvery Minnow... it's what's for dinner."
And tomorrow's repast will be "Shiny Minnow" in a clear sweet & sour sauce. One mustn't detract from the delicious rarity of that endangered shine, after all. ;-)

And you wonder why the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals are considered
looney bins by most Americans.

That bad(?) guy, Jesus, was so cruel(?) to the creatures he created, feeding fish to 5000 men + their women and children at one time. And His Father too, killing animals to make clothes for Adam & Eve as he cast them from the garden. Same guy telling Moses how precisely to slaughter animals for sacrifice. The examples of God exploiting animals are numerous. God is bad?
Not a hard choice for me; God or PETA?

"We like to say catch and fillet down here."
A guide in Everglades City has one you will like. He uses "follet and release".
He also throws all his fish back. "In the back of the boat", I believe is how he says it.

I don't believe these people would like to see what we do with gar after we gig them...
Let's just say that we make sure they're not alive, or at least will never eat another blue gil, before we shake them off the spears.

I wonder how they feel about Lobster ?
Boiling alive does not seem humane.
Oh I forgot, most of their benefactors eat a lot of lobster.
Nevermind.

Disgustipated
And the angel of the lord came unto me,
snatching me up from my place of slumber.
And took me on high, and higher still
until we moved to the spaces betwixt the air itself.
And he brought me into a vast farmlands of our own
midwest.
And as we descended,
cries of impending doom rose from the soil.
One thousand, nay a million voices full of fear.
And terror possesed me then.
And I begged, "Angel of the Lord,
what are these tortured screams?"
And the angel said unto me,
"These are the cries of the carrots,
the cries of the carrots!
You see, Reverend Maynard,
tomorrow is harvest day and to them it is the holocaust."
And I sprang from my slumber drenched in sweat
like the tears of one million terrified brothers and roared,
"Hear me now, I have seen the light!
They have a consciousness, they have a life, they have a soul!
Damn you! Let the rabbits wear glasses! Save our brothers!"
Can I get an amen? (baaaaaaaa)
Can I get a hallelujah? (baaaaaaaa)
Thank you Jesus.

What a great photo. I have read that squirrels will eat birds and eggs, but I have never seen this.
