She should consider re-aligning herself with this minister. They can celebrate their 'diversity' and commiserate religious 'intolerance' (/sarcasm).

Did you ever stop to think that gays don't really trust each other when it comes to kids. That's why there's no "gay scouting" operation out there, or "gay sunday school", and so forth.

Wonder why that is?

they want to go into established organizations and avoid all the effort to start their own

Actually, the reasons for going into established organizations is not so much to "belong" but to disrupt and destroy.

This is the same objective as their wanting to become ministers. Look what the consecration of the New Hampshire bishop has done to the Episcopal Church. This is their objective, plain and simple.

I can see why she'd appeal... the UM heirarchy has dragged this out, dithered, and worked desperately to find some way to rationalize homosexuality, so she's almost been encouraged to give it one more try.

But then the Boy Scouts would still exist, and there's the rub.

Uh, couldn't you use a different word??

Since she's been defrocked, then she's no longer entitled to be called "Minister"... The media shills once again!

"then Peter and the others answered,"We ought to obey GOD rather than man."(Acts 5:29) but of course I must not
neglect your point -for you speak of the reprobates
homosexuals- those who have rejected God.

I think it is about the church money, they don't want to give up what they have invested. I would like to think it is because of biblical reason that they stay, Christians should work out their problems within their churches, however considering this churches doctrine (ie allowing female ministers) I can't help but wonder if they read their bibles at all.

I don't understand why this person and others who have a specific point of view don't simply start their own church or religious order? Oh no, that would mean that others, who don't share their take, would actually be able to keep it from being shoved in their face. Am I an homophobic? No, just like the concept of free choice to work both ways for a change.

Homosexuals often know just how messed up they are. But they choose to live a lie and refuse to face up to their own problems. The push to force all institutions, organizations and associations into "accepting" (actually promoting) the gay life is a part of their effort to convince themselves that they are just normal folks. If they formed the "gay scouts" it would not contribute to their fantasy of being "normal" but marked as set apart.

There is a very good reason homosexuality was considered a mental illness until just a few decades ago. These are very troubled people. As a side benefit, trumped up outrage and endless battles against the "homophobes" takes a lot of time and energy that might otherwise be used for introspection.

"no, to be homophobic you would have to be doing or saying something that is very wrong. To see homosexuality as sin is not wrong, therefore, you can not be homophobic."

yeah, I hate how "homophobic" implies a fear. as if we are the ones with the problem. I prefer "homonauseaum" ( disgusted with Homos )

Just because you are asked to treat people equally doesn't mean that homosexuality is now okay. Christ showed compassion to sinners while still commanding them to sin no more.

The sooper sekrit one that tells everyone the Word of God is just a suggestion for helping you along the way. His laws can be twisted to suit your own purposes./sarcasm

I fear on that dreadful day of judgment, as the 1928 Prayer Book said, many pastors will be falling short in God's eyes when asked about homosexuality. On a website discussing the ordination of Bishop Robinson, one the comments said they would rather tell God that His Word told them homosexuality was a sin, rather than tell God they thought He did not mean it. I am afraid a lot of people will be forced to the last point when asked.

Now the Bishops are tickling the ears of the ministers.... Jesus himself said "go and sin no more". What happened to that?

I have a friend who is currently Lutheran and supposedly a conservative. A couple of months ago she said that she didn't really mind legalization of same sex couples like in Mass, just as long as they didn't force it on churches. I about fell out of my chair. I told her legally forcing it on ALL Churches would be the next step.

No they want to go into established organizations and avoid all the effort to start their own

Its not the effort of starting a separate group, its the fact that the original group exists and they need to bring it down. They (the leftist) will attack every organization that does not support the political correct concept that everyone deserves to define what they will and won't believe in and everyone else had better agree or they will be offended. As these groups stand up for what they believe, our country gets stronger.

We had an assistant scoutmaster in out troop who announced that he would not mind if the scouts accepted homosexual leaders and scouts. He found the other fathers did not agree with his position. (Even in liberal SF peninsula).

Creating conditions where homosexuality is considered normal, is the stuff of utopian fiction. Not likely to happen with the multicultural indoctrination meetings, because these meetings have run their course and society is still opposed to male-male and female-female liasons being normalized.

I fear for those in pastor/leadership roles because of what God's Word states about the extra burden of responsibility placed upon those teaching God's Holy Word. There is no grey area with God.
