Bangladesh may have been hit by the tsunami by the original large 8.5 quake, but I think the reports of a separate 7.2 magnitude quake in Bangladesh are bogus; a screwup by the Bangladeshi seismic office.
Looks like separate events. Heard 6.5 to 7.2 in Chittagong, Bangladesh, plus considering the time of the Sumatran event, seems they got a double whammy. Sea wave and quake.
