Just mentioned on FNC:
Dining facility on U.S. Base in Iraq hit by rocket attack- 10 dead
Waiting for more info...
Many Prayers from my family for all those lost, the injured and those witnesing this. Also for the families and loved ones who will live through the hours of waiting, holding thier breaths, fearing the door bell and the phone ringing. some will be able to again breath,others....My Heart breaks for them.God be with them.
I appreciate it!
Naah, we have the terrorists on the run. They have not established the infrastructure they had in Fallujah, yet.
We need to keep pressing the issue. Our traitorous reporters who focus on what kind of signing on letters of condolence, armor on humvees that were built during the Clinton administration and "torture" of captured terrorists who won't talk is badly undermining our effort.
Well, IMO, THAT'S NOT ENOUGH if the bad guys are getting INSIDE.
We need to get smart again. Too much is obvious here.
They should form the backbone of any new national Iraqi army.
Glad you're o.k. The days will seem to get longer as the date comes closer -- keep busy and time will pass quicker.
(My advice comes from spending two-weeks short of a full year serving alongside the Swifties in Viet Nam)
I'm glad to be on Your good side (right?) <;O)
We just can't allow Iraqis in our bases. But they are unable to defend their own bases. So, it is a bit of a pickle.
We just need to be more ruthless.
The Brigade Support Battallion of the 1-25th Stryker Brigade is based at Marez along with other units---I happen to know this as my daughter (combat medic)just happens to be boarding a 757 in Seattle on the way to FOB Marez. I already had great respect and empathy for military families. I am beginning to see it wasn't as much as I should have. It is going to be a long year....
if I just focus on something, time flies....
I havent had a problem here until yesterday....that 3 week to go mark really did it....
My Christmas present would be to see Zarqawi roasting on an open fire. Bastards.
God bless and be with your daughter metalcor.
The US military always hires locals to help run their bases...Mike can you provide more info re Iraq?
The Kurds might be a bit leery of doing too much right now...we seem to be trying to play both ends against the middle in their dispute with the Turks.
If you guys think there are a lot of Iraqis on our bases, you would flip to see the number of Indians, Pakistanis and Filipinos on our bases...
We need these people and what they do to free up soldiers for other things.
Like I posted earlier, the Iraqis I have met have been working their asses off to get their country back in order and to make some money for their families.
Remember, Iraqis died in this attack as well and this attack was probably not launched by Iraqis, but rather by a Jordian leading Syrians, Iranians, Saudis and other Jordians....
evict the press (ALL OF THEM) immediately, they are the worse propagandist out there, then let our guys go do what needs done
Told some Marines the same thing, and shook their hands, at the Giants game this weekend. It's because of you and the rest of our servicemen and woman that we are free and able to live in the best country in the world.
Makes it hard to think about Christmas with good folks in harms way.
