Liberals used to be able to prove their liberal credentials to their liberal peers by showing how "kind" they were to minorities, and later how concerned they were about the earth. Then they wore awareness bracelets. Now it seems the best way to flash those credentials is to show how extreme you are in hating Bush. The more liberal, the louder and more crassly you pound on him. It's a whole lot more easier than earlier methods, not that they were all that arduous either.

Ironic that this was sponsored by "People for the American Way." It's precisely because of people like Chevy Chase and his Hollywood pals that a lot of people in the world think that vulgarity and hate are the "American Way."

Wow...just 1 month ago they were all acting like Kerry was their best buddy.

What a bunch of weirdos.

Sorry Sparky, but Kerry isn't a bore. He's a boor.

We were told he hurt his back and needed to call it a night by 9.

I missed that the first time through. Chevy has a history, IIRC, of abusing pain pills (among other drugs). "Hurting his back" probably means he was coming down hard off his high.

So why feature a Hollyweird a$$-clown at your awards ceremony if you aren't looking for something like this to occur? "People for American Way" shouldn't have been (and likely weren't) one bit surprised that this foul puke emanated from the oral cavity of a Hollyweird actor. They knew exactly what they were going to get IMO.

As for other Hollywood liberals and the Washington Post being shocked about it, give me a break on that too. The Post article might have been some post-election damage control by the RATS trying to seem more like decent Americans but that's it.

You know you are getting old when the only way you can attract attention is to take pot shots at the president.

Shuddup Chevy

His talk show was actually painful to watch. The absoulute nadir, 7th circle of showbiz hell.

I'm sickened by Chevy Chase and his pathetic soapbox views.

My comedic tastes are kinda tacky, I must confess.

My two favorite comedy flicks are the original "Vacation", and "Meet the Parents". My third is "Get Shorty".

It seems my first two favorite guilty pleasures have been taken away.

I refuse to contribute to Streisand and her much publicized causes, so sadly, I won't be paying my $$$s to see "Meet the Fockers".
And I'll never be able to watch "Vacation" again without a bad taste in my mouth. Unfortunately, I've already spent the money on that one.

I guess I'm in the minority, as these Hollywood idiots keep raking in the bucks at the box office.

Oh well, I guess there's still "Office Space". If anyone in this obsure comedy gets on their liberal political soapbox, please don't tell me. Ignorance is bliss.

Isn't the President usually in the audience at these Kennedy Center things?

This wasn't the Kennedy Center Honors.
