The Chef attempted a new recipe.
It fell on the floor,
and a new batch had to be whipped up - quickly.
Thus, the Chef begs your pardon if there are any errors,
especially of the spelling sort.

Happy Wednesday All!

Ok, I'm checking out your links and guess what I found? Is this why you put the two of them (Getty and Johnson) together?

Married twice to actress Melanie Griffith and currently married to Kelley Phleger of San Francisco. Ms. Phleger is related to the Gettys of Getty Oil.

What is that, maybe two degrees of separation?

Perfect Peace Is Possible

Read: Isaiah 26:1-9

You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. —Isaiah 26:3

Bible In One Year: Amos 1-3; Revelation 6

Few things (if anything at all) in this fallen world can be called perfect. But God promises to keep us in "perfect peace" if we keep our minds focused on Him and continue trusting Him (Isaiah 26:3).

So why do we find it so difficult to trust Him? Often, it's because we're afraid that things won't go as we want them to unless we control them ourselves. The less we are in control, the more anxious and worried we become.

Author Hannah Whitall Smith wrote, "It is not hard, you find, to trust the management of the universe, and of all the outward creation, to the Lord. Can your case then be so much more complex and difficult than these, that you need to be anxious or troubled about His management of you?"

Yet we often think our situation is too difficult for God. If we can't solve things ourselves, we doubt that He can. We have our Christian beliefs, yes—but that isn't the same as believing God. Believing God is a personal response that grows out of our Christian faith and is expressed by our increasing trust in Him and His promises.

As our mind remains on Him, He keeps us in perfect peace. This has been the experience of countless believers, and you can experience it too. —Joanie Yoder

If God's creation helps us see
What wonders He can do,
Then we can trust His promises
For they are always true. —D. De Haan

God can be trusted in the dark as well as in the light.

Good morning Everyone. Good morning to our

Military, our Allies and their families. You have my deepest gratitude for all that you do!

Thanks Spotsy for opening the doors to the Canteen this morning. And, of course, for serving up the pancakes. Everything looks lovely this morning. Oh, and I see you put me on the front page. Now, I'll be under so much pressure to perform well on the next class. Seeing how it's my last one. LOL

BTW, you look lovely this morning. Did you get our outfits at the same place?

Now, I would like for you all to indulge me a little tantrum this morning

HOW COME Y'ALL ARE ALREADY OVER 150 POSTS?????

I was hoping to get here early enough to chat it up with you all before I have to do some real work. But, I see that it will take all day to catch up. I have a few things that have to be done. Plus, I am going out to lunch so I will be away from the Canteen. And, then I will be leaving work about 30 minutes early. SO....this means I won't have a lot of time to goof off play visit today. Waaaaaaaa..............

Now of course I've seen a few new faces that I MUST give a welcome to. And, then as I try to catch up on this thread, I hope to get to each and every one of you before I do leave!

Now remember, the Canteen is always open

So, come on in and sit for a while. There's alway plenty of coffee, pancakes, conversation, silliness, and plain old BS.

Today's FEEBLE

YOKE :

Radix had given Lady Jag one of those new fangled electric coffee makers for a Christmas present.  Within a week
she was taking it back to the store.

The lady at the return counter asked her if it worked.

"Oh sure, it makes a great cup of coffee.  Just like the booklet said, I plug it in, set the timer, go on to bed, and,
when I get up, the coffee's ready!"

"So, ma'am, what's wrong with it?"

"I don't want to have to go to bed every time I want to make a pot of coffee."

1990 More than 400 American Roman Catholic theologians charged that the Vatican had been throttling church reforms and imposing "an excessive Roman centralization." They contended that the Vatican had undercut a greater role for women, slowed the ecumenical drive for Christian unity and undermined the collegial functioning of national conferences of bishops.
