Caught him on the Daily Show the other night, and I thought he was hilarious and smart. Didn't get a whiff of which way he leans, though.
Anyway, I don't care if someone is a dittohead or a lefty liberal as long as they give me good, unbiased news, with multiple viewpoints. Unfortunately, it seems like even that is too much to ask for in today's media world...
Rush was holding Williams in high regard yesterday on his radio show, even telling of meetings they had when Williams was still working at the CBS flaghsip station WCBS Channel 2 in New York. Rush said that Williams is a "hell of a funny guy", and has very deep opinions on alot of subjects. Rush said he's still maintained great friendships with Russert, Brokaw, and Williams over the years.
I doubt that Williams is a conservative, but I don't doubt that he listens to Rush. He has called in and spoken with Rush at least once - I recall hearing him call in around 3 years ago.
"Describing a somewhat hostile encounter between himself and Couric some years back, Limbaugh told his audience on Tuesday, 'There's still some tension there.'"
Limbaugh excretes things more intelligent than Katie "Gums" Curic.
Did Brian Williams ever 'sit-in' for Rush on his radio show? (Chris Matthews did once)
Fox has demonstrated what needs to be done to become #1. Maybe NBC has learned some lessons.
I guess I'm a cynic, but I think Williams is lobbying for the anchor job. I think he's trying to come across as appealing to conservatives as well as liberals in the hope of selling his superiors on the fact that he could appeal to a wider audience and hence achieve higher ratings.
Sorry, the timing is way too suspect. I ain't buyin'. Why is this just now coming out?

I don't think so....
They have their fingers in the wind.
Don't be fooled....
Rush likes him, Sean likes him and had him on his show yesterday.
I've never had an issue with him, and that's good.
As long as he doesn't think of the red states as a "foreign country" like Chrissy does, I'm thrilled.
A lot of this could simply be posturing for the pajama posse viewership. Throw them a bone, act like you think they're actually a part of America and all that.
Time will tell whether he listens to Rush because he finds it illuminating, or because it's his perceived duty to hear the opposition.
Now if someone could get Bri a head brace so he trains himself to face the camera straight-on, I'd be impressed.
Rush seemed to go out of his way to praise him. Let's at least give him a chance.
Rush fan, NASCAR fan could there be hope?
I heard another radio talk show host say today that Williams was more liberal than Brokjaw.
Williams is a dem .
I want his newscasts to be fair and balanced. Such a newscast would go a long way in getting me to watch broadcast network news again. Right now, it is kaput in Recovering_Democrat's household.
I watched NBC News tonight. It was no different than any other night for NBCCBSABCCNN etc. Half the show was dedicated to Iraq and the upcoming elections, and it was nothing but doom and gloom. Not one good thing to say, as usual. "We want Bush to fail, we need Bush to fail" is the message. So, whatever Brian Williams says he is, or appears to be, to Rush or Sean or anyone else, he was a good leftist media soldier tonight.
