As for "models" the Chinese are making it right in front of your scale-covered eyes. They are relocating all the best Western manufacturing plant to their country. They simply have to refuse to trade with us. I.e., the shoe will be on the other foot.
GOP1900 thinks we can reconstitute some of our plant if hostilities break out, by using friendly alternate Western countries for the machine tools and capital, although the dissipation of the trained work force does give him pause. That same work force would be required to reassemble plants. Chicken-egg situation.
