"I thought that the people suggesting that the incident with Bush's SS bodyguard might have been an assassination attempt" Possible...but it could have also been an attempt to separate the President from his nuclear football for a few minutes while an outside event (Iran, Taiwan, North Korea, etc.) was given a go ahead...perhaps even to apply physical intimidation for a few minutes while said external event was occurring...
Were there any Chinese (Hu Xintao) or Iranian leaders present during yesterday's incident?

mornin! How is my favorite neighbor?
Indeed, something is not right down there. I can understand teh protocal and not wantign to insult the guests, however, and this is a BIG however, in the light of 9/11 and the war in Iraq, I would think that the Chilean persident would understand and comply so as NOT to insult US or raise OUR suspicions.
I don't like this, not one bit.

Cheney's just as much a straight-shooter as GWB is, and he's not afraid to get angry.Chavez to Cheney, "We're really sorry."
Cheney to Chavez, "GFYs . . . . Boom."

but it could have also been an attempt to separate the President from his nuclear football Like the man said, "There are no coincidences". Certainly not at this level.
The President is in good hands. The Secret Service are not the trusting types. And this president has respect for them.

Prayer ping.
My prayers going up for our President. Lord, please protect our President during this gathering. Surround him with a hedge of protection. Make any who would disrupt or try to harm him visible to his SS Agents. In Jesus' precious name. Amen
Aeronaut, thank you for the ping.
Blessings,
trussell
If you want on/off my prayer ping list, please let me know. All requests happily honored.

President Bush himself had to intervene, not to get his entire security team in, but 1 man of the security detail. Now this insane demand by the Chileans. Dis those pricks and get the president out now. What are they thinking? What is President Bush thinking. The USSS must be going nuts over this.

Wasn't it the Chilean President that was re-elected this past Summer? He had somewhat of an endorsement from Castro. Figures, the Chilean President robbed the election and is a freakin' Commie dictator. Huh? In what alternate universe?

Does this mean that the rest of the security detail was already inside? If so, good, but why didn't they get the agent instead of the president doing it? Why weren't they all over Bush when he reached into the crowd? That just doesn't make any sense either way.
