Why? He said turn it off! I for one am sick of cell phones going off in places they shouldn't be and people using them in places they shouldn't be - she got what she deserved.

After a night in the Suffolk County jail in Riverhead, Acevedo appeared Wednesday before Alamia and pleaded guilty to criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, a misdemeanor, and was sentenced to 45 days in jail. The judge allowed the contempt charge to run concurrently.Frankly, she got off too easy--it turned out to be a concurrent sentence. Perhaps when people realize there are consequences to actions they will to follow directions/rules/laws.
As far as cell phones being a nuisance and an intrusion you are right.
