Stolen in TX, then driven across the border into Mexico, then shipped to the middle east. I would bet there are cells operating in Mexico with just this purpose. I would also not at all be surpised if AQ hasn't stolen a few cargo ships for the purpose of moving things like this stolen SUV around.
I remember seeing a video several years ago where an 18 wheeler was stolen from a trucking company in Florida, driven through the chain link fence and right to the port facility and onto a ship bound for South America.
My son's truck was stolen at last year's Auburn-Alabama football game. It was never recovered and investigators with Auburn's P.D. stated exactly what you posted. The truck was more than likely driven to Mexico and stripped or shipped elsewhere.
Do you have your H.E.A.T. decal? It authorizes law enforcement officers to stop the vehicle and verify ownership, between 1:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m., anywhere in Texas. So if don't use your vehicle between 1 and 5 am or use it so rarely that you don't mind being stopped, you can place this decal on your vehicle and if a policeman sees it on the street from 1 to 5 they will stop it and check that it isn't being driven by a thief. If it has the decal it will be stopped and the documents checked at the Mexican border as well.
The cops have probably already run the plates, so we might know more about their origin shortly. Then again, we might not.
