I'm confused. Twice Carville said the President wants a constitutional amendment to ban abortion. I have never heard, seen or read anything about the President wanting an amendment to ban abortion. Mary did not refute Carville's statement. Does anyone have a source for what Carille said?

"His re-election was the greatest political achievement of my lifetime."

Judging from his words, it's apparant that Carville is aware that his efforts contributed to the re-election of President Bush and that this constituted Carville's greatest lifetime achievement, but one can't help wondering if he realizes how little his contribution mattered.

I thought the check was WRITTEN on the show, but the bet was with his wife, and went to HER favorite charity.

The question is, which one is the dog and which one is the pony?

When I look at those two creeps all I think of is the "Bohemium Grove" conspiracy theory.

Can't understand why they ever got to such high places?

See the Republican party platform. It has called for such an action since at least Reagan was President. Because Bush heads our party, one can reasonably attribute these sentiments to Bush.

You misunderstand what he said, as did I until I listened to the followup. He means it was the greatest political achievement DURING his lifetime, not that he had anything to do with it.

Besides Slick Willy, just how many successful elections has Carville been a part of?

I can't think of any...

You can't count the Israeli election where he helped Barak because that's well...in Israel.

What is my point? My point is in the corporate world, He'd be out on his ass because as a consultant Carville is pretty much a bust.

He has run a great many elections including the first one of Zell Millers back in the 80's. Do you follow this type thing closely?

AH I guess you fooled me when you asked about Clinton's races which were in the 90's then asked if he had ever run anything else. I should improve my mind reading so as not to correct others who post half a thought.

BTW Do not believe for a moment that he and his partner have not been busy since 2000.

"One of many Washington insider couples making millions off being a political entertainment team - not that much different than Michael Moore and Al Franken, really."

I don't agree. I think both are dedicated to their parties. Mary LOVES the Bush family. Carville LOVES the Clintons. They are both serious, though flamboyant and of course interesting given their marriage.

I know he probably has, but my point being, the track record of rat candidates since 2000 has been at best...well...spotty.
