Before the war broke out, KLA wore civilian clothes with and without red UCK badges, German field jackets, black unoforms, woodlad disruptive pattern, salamander patern etc.
Here are some of the samples:
This photo of KLA in CIVILIAN CLOTHES was taken in Racak January 16th.
Caption reads:
A MEMBER of the Kosovo Liberation Army walks past a body of a villager from Racak who was found in a ditch with at least another 22 bodies of ethnic Albanians at the site of recent fighting in southern Kosovo. (REUTERS)
So much of KLA ALWAYS wearing uniforms.
There are many other pics awailable on the net with KLA in civilian clothes.
This is KLA in SKI MASK.
This is KLA in woodland similar to VJ pattern:
This is KLA in blue uniforms similar to Serbian Police.
BROTHERS IN ARMS
Vance and Owen tried that in former Y. The US constantly undermined their efforts. But I know where you are coming from. My fave (sarcasm) fellow in the last pic DTA posted in #341, Agim Ceku (the one between the "good" Brit general and the "crazy" American general), is reponsible for far worse than what is alleged to have happened in Racak, yet NATO made him commander of the KPC. And made the purported sealed ICTY indictment against him for Medak (and possibly Storm) go away, I suppose. The leaders of my country were right to condemn atrocities committed by Serbs. They were wrong not to condemn atrocities against Serbs. Hypocrisy is not pretty.
Relying on a KLA P.O. for information is remarkable. Questioning villagers about the loyalities in the prescence of KLA, is simply 'not good detective work'.
Wraith may have a much more subtle understanding of what is likely to have happened.
...........I have seen the dirty side of the KLA and its not very pretty. This was going on even while you were conducting your KDOM patrols. Yes the Stemlje, Racak villagers supported the KLA but feared them as well. Considering the majority of the population were pro LDK i.e. Rugova. When you said that Buja was looking for volunteers It amused me because Shukri Buja does not ask he insists. There were 45 dead villagers found at Racak and by Buja's own admission an equal number of his KLA fighters of which 11 were killed. The real strange thing was that the 11 dead KLA were removed and buried in a village not far from Racak. No KLA bodies to suggest the villagers had posed resistance to the VJ and MUP. The Racak villger's knew the VJ and MUP were coming. The sound of heavy military equipment could be heard for miles. The Albanian grape vine is a very efficient thing especialy when bad news was on the horizon. The 45 villagers remained in Racak because Buja's KLA made them. It made no sence to hang around while the majority of the village took off for the safety of Stimlje unless you had approx. 45 armed KLA keeping you there. I find it very interesting that the majority of the deaths were the villagers and not the KLA. This is because these 45 LDK supporters were simply fodder for the KLA cause and would not be missed..................
You've come off as nothing less than a poor imitation of Dority's alter ego - maybe you should ping him at his 'jomini' user account for some pointers for use on whatever subject you choose to apply your less than adequate talents to next.
If you were in any Army's military intelligence branch, it was only due to someone's desire to illustrate that tired jibe about it being an oxymoron.
I ask you again, what's the difference between you and Fusion?
You're nothing but a BS artist, just like Fusion.
Furthermore, Wraith, you always have been a very poor hand at dispensing insults - give it a rest. It's just another line of endeavor in which your aims are hamstrung by your lack of ablility.
Can you please flag me to any and all mentions of the HVO, HV, VRS, ABiH, etc?
Hi Dio. I'd be most happy to do so. The ones I know about, that is.
THE HAGUE -- Tuesday November 23 2004 Russian General Leonid Ivashov has taken the stand for the defence in the trial of Slobodan Milosevic before the Hague Tribunal.
The former commander of Russias international forces, told the court that the head of the 1998-99 Kosovo Verification Mission, William Walker, had said as early as February 12, 1999, that Serbs had no business in the province.
Walker had already said on February 12, 1999, in answer to my question of what the chances looked for a peaceful resolution to the Kosovo crisis, that there would be an inevitable military intervention in the spring and that Serbs had no business in Kosovo, said Ivashov.
The witness also told the court that former US Secretary of State Madeleine Albright had personally promised Kosovo Liberation Army leader Hashim Thaci that there would be a referendum on independence for Kosovo if the guerrilla organisation agreed to foreign troops being deployed in the province.
The Russian General Staff Headquarters had information about 11 camps in Kosovo and northern Albanian were terrorists were being trained. We passed this information to General Wesley Clark with the intention of together putting an end to the Kosovo Liberation Armys terrorist activities.
Unfortunately General Clark said that NATO had no good intelligence reports to confirm this, which was simply not true, said Ivashov.
The witness also told the court that Russian military leaders had spoken to the ambassadors of fifteen Islam countries about the training of terrorists and that the Iranian ambassador had confirmed the participation of Taliban and Al-Qaida members in Kosovo
So much of honest brokers.
It does certainly appear that William Walker and his team compromised themselves
The Big House needed justification to go to war and the experts provided it. That's just the way it is in the policy game...
With Mr Fusion's good friend -- "The Modern Day Bismarck" as he used to call him -- reelected, his other friends "The forces of freedom" can get back to work knowing they have a mandate from 59 million people to get the job done. Just as 2001 was eventful in the Balkans so should be 2005.
Wraith, they say that Dority guy Hoplite mentions was in Albania for seven or eight months last year in between trips to Kosovo and Macedonia. They say he has been talking a lot about Bosnia lately and those missing diplomatic passports. Seems those al-Qaeda types like to use them to move around...
Hoplite, a few posts above is the famous picture of Holbrooke when his ego made him bite on the hook. How about using those famous deductive powers of yours and telling us the true identity of the man on Holbrooke's left? You know, "the poet"...
When Holbrooke sat down for that photo the boys were laughing so hard they couldn't see straight. Now everybody five years wiser and about a hundred years more effective. With the MDB back in office and the changes on the Hill it should be a golden age for Mr Fusion and his pals to take that policy ball and run with it...
The Colonel, the Congressman, the Correspondent and the Hawk. Hmmmmmmm maybe it's time to get the band back together again...
You know, the Third World War and all that. By the way, how's that global struggle going?
Hoplite, on a more serious note. In Squad Leader did you ever try and use the German 2-8 LMG to cover your flank? A leader can fire it at one factor, yes?
J
Nice to see you back Jomini!
I've pinged Paratrooper_501 to your post above.
LOL.
I haven't played squad leader since the early '80's, Greg. Forgive me if I pass on the opportunity to verify a leader counter's crew served weapons capabilities in a game - been there, done that, real world.
Welcome back Fusion !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
