Mubarak Decries Anti-Islam, Christian Bias

CAIRO, Egypt - The Egyptian president marked the holiest night of the Islamic calendar Tuesday, calling for greater tolerance for all religions and saying the world was wrong to equate Arabs and Muslims with terrorism.

Hosni Mubarak also said the global spread of terrorism and confusion over what causes it has led many to unfairly blame Arabs and Muslims.

"Propagating these allegations has entered a very dangerous turn, which has been represented in a new wave of hatred and hostile behavior against Arabs and Muslims," Mubarak said during a nationally televised speech delivered on "Lailat al-Qader," the most holy night of the Muslim fasting month, Ramadan, which is expected to end this week.

Islam is treated to harshly? They are getting a pass. Imagine if Christians ran around beheading infidels yelling "praise Jesus!"? What if Christians stoned adulterous women? Convicted women for adultry without ANY evidence other than the testimony of the husband? What if Jesus said:

" Quran 8:12, I will instill terror into the hearts of the unbelievers: smite ye above their necks and smite all their fingertips off them"

or

9:29, Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya* with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued.

No Ideology should be allowed a pass to our rational evaluation of basic rights, just because it has a few passages about the hereafter.

Let's Roll...

Y'know, Hosni's got a point here. Really terrorism should be equated with 70-year-old Lutheran grandmothers, seeing as how they're the ones blowing people up, chopping off heads, and stoning rape victims.

Just like it's wrong to equate Michael Moore with morbid obesity and stupidity.

You mean some people actually associate Islam, Arabs, and terrorism?

Hmmm....

All other major religions except Islam have undergone modernizing, centralization, and moderation since their more barbarous beginnings.

Islam has not changed a whit in 800 years. Intractability is actually praised in Islam. The only solution is secular democracy - remove the threat of fundamentalists, allow power to reside in the hands of ordinary citizens and the religion will moderate itself.

He's right. It was really a Baptist on the way to a Bible Study who murdered Van Gogh.

Sadly, Islam will long be the darling of the Leftists across the world since they share a common enemy: God and His laws.

I tried blaming Icelanders, but no one bought it.

...calling for greater tolerance for all religions...

This from a man rules a country where Islam is the official state religion and primary source of legislation. And where religious practices that conflict with Islamic law are prohibited. Where Muslims face legal problems if they convert to another faith. A state which requires non-Muslims to obtain what is now a presidential decree to build a place of worship.

Perhaps Mubarak is signaling his willing to hand out some of those presidential decrees so Christians and Jew can start building Churches and Synagogues. That must be it.

[2.217] They ask you concerning the sacred month about fighting in it. Say: Fighting in it is a grave matter, and hindering (men) from Allah's way and denying Him, and (hindering men from) the Sacred Mosque and turning its people out of it, are still graver with Allah, and persecution is graver than slaughter; and they will not cease fighting with you until they turn you back from your religion, if they can; and whoever of you turns back from his religion, then he dies while an unbeliever-- these it is whose works shall go for nothing in this world and the hereafter, and they are the inmates of the fire; therein they shall abide.

Prophet of Doom - Islam’s Terrorist Dogma, In Muhammad’s Own Words

Islam is a caustic blend of regurgitated paganism and twisted Bible stories.
Muhammad, its lone prophet, conceived his religion solely to satiate his lust for power, sex, and money.
He was a terrorist.

And if you think these conclusions are shocking, wait until you see the evidence at www.prophetofdoom.net.

Christianity did not have barbarous beginnings. Christ's gospel has been distorted or ignored by different rulers and nation states in the past two thousand years - the West struggles with his lofty ethical teachings and often falls short - but Christ did not practice or offer a program of holy war, incest, misogyny and intimidation.

I understand your point, but equating Christianity as it existed during its first four centuries of existence - presumably defined as its beginnings - with the first four centuries of Islam's existence finds that there is no parallel at all with Islam.

Mubarak Decries Anti-Islam, Christian Bias

Gee, Hosni, maybe if Islam hadn't been dedicated from the beginning by its founder to attacking Christians and Jews (and everyone else) there wouldn't be such "bias."

Napoleon battles the Mamelukes at the

This is just the beginning.

And I suppose that Anwar Sadat was taken out by non-terrorist non-Muslims?

Yeah, the Arabs and Muslims are being mistreated bigtime!!!

I have a good idea, let's only go after the religions and nationalities of the 19 guys who were responsible for 9-11, terrorist bombings of nightclubs, Marine barracks, and the Cole, homicide bombings in Israel, beheadings of innocent people trying to make a living in Iraq, and so on!!! No more suspicion of Muslims, we'll go after the folks who have EARNED our distrust by murdering innocent people all over the world.

Oh, wait, that would still only be Arabs and Muslims.....
