I live about a mile from the flashing signs. Went to Bickford's for dinner (two-fer on Tuesdays) and saw a large highway sign < USE CAUTION > flash < MOUNTAIN LION SIGHTED >

That's as close as I nees to come. I mean we're 25 friggin' miles from Boston.

Dispite what "experts say" a caller to the Howie Carr show this afternoon claims that "they" have been tracking a female mountain lion over in the old Natick Lab closed area about five miles south of this point. There were reports of mountain lions in Chelmsford about ten miles North of here about a year ago.

I live in the neighborhood but I look on the bright side. Since only 37% of us Massholes voted for Bush, the odds are the lion will eat a Democrat.

Wow.

I know coyotes are a real threat here in MA, especially to pets and children. (Also to adults, but only if you're caught with your pants down, figuratively, and perhaps literally if you're out in the woods.) I saw one in a residential area just this week.

Call off the alert!

They caught the beast. Turns out it wasn't a mountain lion. It was Teresa stoned out of her mind roaring something about Laura Bush.

The Acton PD gave her a ride back to Louisburg Square and asked Gigolo John to "keep her from scaring the children".

Bear, beaver, deer, fishers, coyotes, turkeys around Bedford, so I guess it was only a matter of time before bigger predators showed up.

Isn't it lovely to live in a gun-free zone like MA? That mountain lion would already be at the taxidermist's if he showed up anywhere in Texas!

The mountain lions heard there was free meat with all the Democrats committing bloody suicide in public places.

In spite of the fact that a one washed ashore out on the Elisbeth Islands a few years back (somebody's pet, they said), and my farmer/naturalist neighbor lost a cow to what she and the vet agreed was a 'big cat' ["how'd it get way up in that tree?"], and my , my wife, and our visitors' encounters [from CO ....they know what one looks like], the official position of our MA officials is that "there ain't no such thing here".

I would not say that they are six feet long though...more like four or five-ish, nose to tail. And they like geese, ducks, and other of my former livestock hobby.

SE MA

Shhhh! If the word gets out, the soccer moms will panic, and the rednecks will be a'blastin'.

I hope that they don't kill it. I'm sure that it's confused and just wants to be safe and away from people - let's hope that they can tranquilize it and get it back to where it belongs.

The most important thing is that there is a Global Test. Senator Kerry can meet with Chirac, get permission to act, and then, the Germans, then the Belgiums. There is no need to rush to war with the cougar. We must have a perfect plan for the peace.

Where I live, cougar and bear sightings in town occur yearly. The cougar will take three 158-grain rounds of .357 Magnum, while the bear will require a one-ounce 12-ga slug.

This really surprizes me. I would never have thought mountians lions were in Mass. I saw one cross the road in Sonora Mexico (where you expect to see them) and it was indeed, "close to the ground". You would never mistake one for a dog or a bear, that's for sure.

experts say you should not run, try to appear as big as possible and make a lot of noise.

John Kerry only took two of these three pieces of advice. He should have taken all three.

There's some sort of a spotted cat in Tennessee
that escaped from its owner, it has an odd name - -
they say will bite - - - looks like it would make a good
ZOT kitty.
