"“I mentioned that many people blame the United States for sanctions against Iraq that have led to the deaths of some 500,000 children. Hands shot up with a multitude of questions and comments. Not surprisingly, we got bogged down on the concept of sanctions and the Gulf War. After a half hour we put our remaining questions - including one by a girl who wondered if the sanctions were a form of terrorism because they led to children dying - in our Questions notebook and moved on.”"

Hmm...and Saddam's regime had NOTHING to do with the people's despair, I guess...

Oh, goody.

The Smithsonian Institution, not having learned its lesson from the Enola Gay controversy, steps in it again.

They are slow learners, aren't they? They should stick to dinosaurs and airplanes and let less prejudiced people deal with current events and history.

As a nation we are ignoring the teaching properties of tar, feathers and fence rails.

These people would probably argue the the suprise attacks on Hawaii and the Phillipines in December 1941 were our fault because we stopped selling oil to Japan.

That being said, there is one big difference. The Japanese attacked MILITARY targets, not CIVILIAN ones. That shows al-Quaeda for the cowardly dogs they are.

This is one of those times the courts ought to be used. any university or college that receives state funds should have to be nonpartisan or present a balance of both sides, if not its state funding revoked.

Another reason to thank God that President Bush was re-elected is that the Oil-for-Food scandal investigation will continue. You can bet it would have been stopped had he lost.

I mention this in response to the part of the article where the "teacher" discussed the sanctions in Iraq.

Everyone involved in this propaganda show should be fired, period, and blackballed. If the college won't do it, all gov't funding to the college should be cut to zero.

I'm sure that all the families that lost loved ones on 9/11 will be comforted to know that they asked for it.

Equally politicized is the lesson plan of Oregon high school teacher Masato Ogawa.

Mom from Oregon, here. Next month we're looking into high schools for my son to attend - will need to check roster to see if this clown is teaching at prospective ones.
