No, I believe that shoe goes over the foot that worships
Hey, isn't that the sound of Anne Frank rolling over?
i wonder if the dutch and the rest of the eu respond, or if this is simply media hype.
i am waiting for jacques chirac to blame bush for mounting terrorist threats in europe....
"A 22-year-old student, Abdul Salam, said he tries to tell Christian friends that Muslims have been in Europe since the Moors crossed into Spain in the 8th century.
"So I don't know what to think when people say I don't belong here because I'm Muslim," he said. "I was born here. I don't even speak Arabic. I am European. That's what I feel. That's what I am."
And Christians have beem in the middle-east almost 8 centuries before Mohammad was born!! What is his point? When was the last time a church was built on islamic lands or a synagogue or a shrine of other faiths? How come there are no christians in the ME anymore? There is a clear disconnect here. Islam's growing reality in Europe is chafing against a secular one that is demographically imploding, which does not want to come to terms with this reality.
Multiculturalism is a one way street for muslims that want to live in europe or anywhere in the west. There will be a day of reckoning and I see a future in which tolerance to immigrants (unfortunately all) give way to fear then anger and finally fascism. Europe has see this before and unfortunately will see it again.
As the saying goes, sleep with dogs and wake up with fleas.
"The workers, mostly Turks, assimilated well into Dutch society."
I doubt it. So they turned into Dutch Reformed or agnostics? If the remain Muslim, they have not assimilated.
Unfortunately, I think the vast majority of Europeans have lost their backbone--they have become almost hopelessly liberal, secular, and (most of all) complacent. Two World Wars in one century probably killed off a lot of the Alpha male gene pool over there. Unlike previous Muslim invasions (and this IS an invasion), this one is relatively peaceful and taking place in slow motion. As a result, there is no real tipping point or sense of impending crisis--this takes advantage of European complacency.
I predict that dealing with the Muslim problem will be the trigger that finally wakes Europeans up from their spiritual coma. I can't predict what will cause European attitudes to change; it may simply be a new generation that grows up feeling more threatened than free. When they start to finally take back their land, it will be the cause that defines a generation. Unfortunately, the cost will be very high and it may be too late to save all of Europe as we have known it.
btt
No, no, no! You must roll over on your back, whimper and pee on yourself all the while whining about how you've done nothing wrong and can't we all just get along. Radical muslims respect that and you'll be fine.
So where are any Muslims condeming the violene? If they don't speak up then they will probably end up being victims themselves, even the innocent ones. Does anyone know of any group or organization of Muslims that has been formed to try and moderate the situation? I haven't heard of any. If you don't speak up against something then you may be for it.
It's eventually going to lead to more blood spilling than World War II. It's not a matter of if, but when.
I must say that I disagree with you. There is a very good chance that most European countries will
1. Have clashes with the crazies
2. Live in a sort of "structured fear" just as they did when Hitler began his rise
3. Adjust to the situation
4. In at least one of them, probably France, a Muslim will end up being elected to a position of importance.
This is not a temporary situation. Indeed, it is entirely possible that we will see, one by one, the great Christian churches of Europe destroyed
Europeans have a mindset of "adjust" to life and they will carry it forward to a new Islamic way of life....sad, very sad
:'D
""I'm afraid. I can't deny it," said Idrissi, who emigrated from Morocco in 1978. "I feel respect for Muslims is falling away in Europe."
WELL DUH I wonder Why
